Explore the Grampians National Park – discover a series of rocky sandstone mountain ranges and spectacular forests rich with wildlife. There are a variety of walks to choose from – Pick from an easy stroll to a full day adventure or even the multi-day Grampians Peaks Trail hike.
The Balconies – Grampians National Park
This is a reasonably easy 1km walk to The Balconies, suitable for walkers of all abilities. In spring you are likely to see native wildflowers and birds in the stringy bark forest. Enjoy the beautiful views of Victoria Valley and the surrounding ranges.
The Grampians National Park is the ideal place to hit the water for a paddle. Cruise the streams, lakes and creeks and enjoy the stunning landscapes and soak up the natural beauty. Either bring your own kayak or you are able to hire canoes and kayaks from local operators and set out on the waters of lakes Bellfield, Wartook, Fyans and Hamilton.
ROCK CLIMBING & ABSEILING
Grampians National Park
The Grampians National Park contains hundreds of exhilarating climbs, particularly on the rugged cliff faces of Mounts Stapylton and Rosea. The perfect way to begin your rock climbing and abseiling adventure is to contact a local adventure company who offer a range of climbing and abseiling courses, including introductory lessons for the novice and programs covering advanced skills for even the most knowledgeable climber.
Mackenzie Falls - Halls Gap
There are several waterfalls to explore at the Grampians, the most popular being the impressive Mackenzie Falls. This is one of Victoria's largest waterfalls and flows all year. It’s an easy walk to an observation platform, that overlooks Broken Falls or you can take a more energetic route down the stairs for a closer look at the cascading Mackenzie Falls.
Beehive Falls - Halls Gap
Relish the serenity and soak up Mother Nature at her most beautiful at this pretty waterfall. A rolling path leads to the base of the falls where seasonal rains fill fern-lined rock pools. It's approximately a 1.5-hour return loop from the Beehive Falls car park.
Unwind, switch off and enjoy the many lakes in the region. Whether its floating on a lilo or tube in summer or rugging up for a lakeside picnic and meander in autumn or spring. There is a beautiful lake to suit every season and landscape. Explore Lake Fyans, Rocklands Reservoir, Lake Lonsdale, Lake Bellfield and Lake Wartook and soak up the natural beauty and peace.
