Welcome to our latest accomodation offering, The Homestead. Located in Bega on the Sapphire Coast, our home has something for everyone. The Homestead boasts three spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms, a modern kitchen and open living and dining area. Styled with French antiques and collected wares, our home has been tastefully restored and offers up a generous base for you to explore the coast from. Located 15 minutes away from Tathra beach and 20 minutes from Merimbula, our home showcases the best of the Sapphire Coast.
You enter The Homestead through an old door. From the outside, it looks like a newly restored cottage, but from the inside she is so much more.
Once inside, take comfort in soft woollen blankets, cosy beds with high quality linens, a slow combustion fireplace, aplenty of books, as well as modern day luxuries, such as a smart TV and unlimited high-speed internet (hello remote work). Timeless heritage with a modern touch is The Homestead, and we know you will love it just as much as we do.
We know that the kitchen truly is the heart of every home, and we have designed this one to offer nothing short of this. Traditional kitchen cabinetry meets modern, with a newly poured and overused concrete bench, traditional butler's sink and tapware. Our cookware is as functional as it is beautiful, drawing in any cooking enthusiast. With two SMEG ovens, induction cooking, a large fridge and a dishwasher, you can really can cook here until your hearts content.
Our open plan living design offers both beauty and function, with the hardwood timber sliders opening out onto our deck and an oversized Blackbutt window offering a view to the mountains. Sit on the lounge and look out to the East, as the sun rises and a new day dawns. As the sun sets, watch a glow set in over the mountains and escape the world for a while. In winter, it really is the perfect backdrop for getting cosy by the slow combustion fire with a hot cacao.
The house has three bedrooms with beautiful layered arrangements of high-end linens, so no need to bring your own. One room offers a double bed, with the other two being queen beds. Our house comfortably sleeps six.
We have two bathrooms. Our spacious main bathroom has a rainfall shower and an 'English styled' Dado quartz bath which sits high on a plinth. The bath is paired with old world style taps and is perfect for deep soaking. Above the bath we have a pair of antique Italian Murano wall sconces which add to the mood when bathing at night. In the ensuite you'll find a rainfall shower, separate toilet and vanity (goodbye to sharing with the kids).
Our deck and backyard though is truly where the magic happens. Paying homage to the Bega township and its traditional farming core, we have designed and restored our home in the desire of recreating this experience for you. Our landscaping work has seen a European inspired garden design, with a generous vegetable garden (feel free to harvest while you’re here) and secluded nooks for quiet moments. We have Silky chooks roaming around pecking in amongst the roses. They are very friendly and automatic doors let them roam and pack them back, so no need for you to do a thing! (note: if you would prefer the chooks to not be let out during your stay, please let us know in advance of your stay).
From the tea leaves to the kettle to the teaspoon, heart and mind have been given to all of the small details at the Homestead.
Explore wide but rest well.
