Immerse yourself in the picturesque surrounds of the Pyrenees Region as you discover a calm you never knew existed at Grayling’s Gift.
Steeped in history and charm, this 19th-century church has been lovingly transformed into a short-term accommodation space that boasts the wonders of yesteryear and the comforts of today.

Over 140 years old, Grayling’s Gift was built on land donated to the community by William Grayling – a descendent of one of the Pyrenees Shire’s first pioneering families.
Using mostly salvaged materials, the humble red-brick building has been renovated and redesigned to ensure a luxurious getaway for all those who visit.

Featuring a warming wood heater, vintage clawfoot bathtub, Chesterfield Lounge, and antique décor, the Grayling’s Gift combines the glory of the past with elements of pure luxury to create a stay that is contemporary, calming and indulgent.

Taking centre stage at Grayling’s is the king-size bed, fitted with premium quality linen bed coverings to provide a luxurious and restful night’s sleep under the church’s original stained glass windows.
Space’s compact kitchen has all you need to complete your stay. We provide guests with all complementary ingredients for a hearty breakfast.

We encourage our guests to disconnect during their stay and enjoy the benefits of taking a break in order to reconnect with themselves, their loved ones and the unique environment. Snuggle up with a good book; take a long, relaxing bath; soak up the serenity of the surrounding garden; enjoy a game of cards with your beloved and; savour the region’s local eats and award-winning wines.

Notes to consider
Lexton does not have a reliable mobile signal and although we offer internet it is often slow and unreliable.
There is no grocery store in Lexton. If you’re visiting from Melbourne, Ballarat is an easy detour to stock up on provisions for your stay. Alternatively, Beaufort is a 20-minute drive and has an independent grocer.

Grayling's Gift is not suitable for children or pets due to the delicate nature of its furnishings.
Please also note that our bathroom features a bathtub with an overhead shower which unfortunately may not suit guests with mobility issues.

I know it's hard to leave the warmth of the fireplace to take a look outside at night but I promise it will be worth it! This accommodation is far enough from Melbourne's light pollution so on a clear night you can perfectly see the Milky Way. In Winter the core is right above the accommodation. Amazing!...
