The Grove Gippsland is an idyllic 60 acre Olive Grove, regenerated eucalyptus forest, and restaurant located high in the hills of the Bass hinterland, 90 minutes from Melbourne CBD, with stunning views across rich farmland of South Gippsland to Western Port Bay. The property combines spectacular food, produce, scenery and views - the perfect backdrop for relaxing walks and stunning photographs. Guests can explore the property and view the dams, sculptures, vegetable garden and wander among the animals that roam the estate. In 2014, a Trufferie was planted near the restaurant, and in 2019 + 2020 the grounds have been undergoing substantial works that included the construction of a much larger vegetable garden, reconstructed dams and new paths that now make the entire property accessible. We are constantly adding to the farm to make it more enjoyable for the public. Our vegetable patch, herb garden, sculptures, walks, dams and facilities are constantly being improved, to allow Allison and David to share their unique property with you, and offer something back to the South Gippsland region and its visitors.

Walking Round The Grove

Discovered by Alex & Sam
In addition to the glamping, there's plenty to see on the property at The Grove. We walked around for about an hour and a half, exploring the Gum Tree forest, appreciating the sculptures and listening to the sounds of local birds - it was so relaxing. And it's all about a 2-minute walk from the tent!...

Cape Horn Lookout

Discovered by Alex & Sam
We stopped at the Cape Horn Lookout with some of the snacks we'd bought in town. It's a perfect spot for a picnic, with a table overlooking the beautiful hills and farmland. It was a bit windy, but it didn't spoil the gorgeous view; it was nice to cuddle up and spot animals in the distance. We were there on an overcast day, but apparently, it's an awesome spot to watch the sunset....

Loch Makers Village

Discovered by Alex & Sam
There was a strip of studios and stores with crafted bits, healthy plants, vintage, and locally made clothing. We wandered through the beautiful street and popped into all the stores - all of the shopkeepers were so friendly and proud to show us what they had on offer. We ended up purchasing a few plants in handmade pots from a shop called Loch Leaf - it was so lovely....

Udder Hoe Gippsland

Discovered by Alex & Sam
We stumbled across the cutest grocer, Udder & Hoe. They're all about sustainable and organic produce, stocking loads of local goodies to support the farmers and community. We had a bottle of wine and a few snacks here. We sat in the space and enjoyed watching as locals popped in and out. We chatted over a glass of wine with one of the ladies working there, everyone was so lovely and the atmosphere was so relaxing. This would be a must-visit....

Mount Worth State Park

Discovered by Alex & Sam
It was an hour drive away, but we knew it would be worth it based on pictures. Plus, the drive was a good excuse to stop at a local bakery and pick up a few pastries. At Mount Worth, the rainforest walking trails were so lush. In the end, we dipped our toes in the river to cool off. It was so refreshing! I would definitely recommend this because it wasn't too strenuous, just perfect for a relaxing adventure....
