Additional Information

ABOUT GARDENERS LOFT
The cottage was once a busy workshop and home to a thriving dried flower and botanical produce business. The rafters were hung with thousands of roses waiting to be transformed into floral arrangements and botanical products. Every year, as the florist shops closed for the Christmas period, 5000 bunches of roses arrived on our doorstep. Purchased at rock-bottom prices and delivered on Christmas Eve, they all had to be hung in the loft by Boxing Day in time for our annual family camping expedition. It was a race against time and a family effort with all hands on deck working deep into the moonlight hours.

“GARDENERS LOFT” is a botanical hideaway that reflects a rich floral history, a story of family’s unity and shared toil and their deep appreciation for nature’s beauty and abundance.

My husband and I live in the main house on the property, so you may see us from time to time coming and going. You will have complete privacy, but we are readily available if you require any assistance or local knowledge. If we are not on hand to show you around on arrival, please make yourself at home and explore! Private areas include the main house, patio area, potting shed, and maintenance area behind the chook shed.

OUR SIGNATURE FRAGRANCE
As you step inside, reminiscences of the loft's early days linger. Our signature blend of essential oils stimulates the atmosphere with a deep and woody fragrance capturing the botanicals of a bygone era, the warmth of a just-cut flower posy and a lingering hint of the Woodlands beyond.

OUR PRODUCTS
We use Koala Eco products which are certified safe, non-toxic, natural, and sustainable. They are not tested on animals and do not contain any harmful chemicals or synthetic fragrances. The bottles are made with 100% recycled and recyclable materials no new plastic is created. Oh, and they smell divine!

PILLOW MENU
For your ultimate sleeping experience, there are 5 different pillow options. You will find the Pillow Menu on the beds and additional pillows are stored in the wardrobe. The duck feather and microfibre pillows are on the bed (duck down at back, microfiber in front).

THE DECK
With views over Woodlands to the bay beyond the deck is the perfect place for an early morning coffee, alfresco lunch, or as the sun dips into the ocean, an evening sundowner.

ARTWORK
Displayed throughout Gardeners Loft you will see the original artwork created for our product labels by our dear friend, neighbour, and renowned Peninsula botanical artist Christine Eddy (RIP). We are thrilled that her love of nature and all things beautiful can be shared with our guests.

THE GAZEBO
he Gazebo is located in the Orchard Garden and is accessed by the pathway behind the loft. It is the perfect place to relax with a book, chill in front of the campfire or get active with outdoor games.

The natural bush setting provides a safe habitat for wildlife. You are likely to encounter possums, lorikeets, rosellas, cicadas and even a spider during your stay. If you see a spider DON’T PANIC. You can ignore it, safely return it to the garden or as a last resort use the bug-killer spray in the cupboard. It is highly unlikely you will encounter a snake on our property but just be aware they may inhabit the surrounding bushland. The bay is safe to swim in, but it is best not to stand on any sea creature. You may see dolphins in the bay.

BEACHES AND CLIFFS
Frequented mainly by locals, Mt Eliza's beaches are secluded and are accessed by steps from the cliffs above. Colourful little beach boxes dotted along the sand are loved by the families who own them. Some days it can be a hive of activity, and on others, you will have the beach all to yourself, even in summer. In winter it's broody skies, long lonely beach walks, and mulled wine in the beach box. No matter the season or the weather, the beach box will not disappoint!
