The Bush Loft is situated in the volcanic province of the Stony Rises on Gunditjmara Country, traditional lands of the Eastern Maar Nation people.
Nestled in a patch of remnant bushland within a unique OFF GRID neighbourhood this whimsical rustic stay will provide plenty of wildlife spotting and star gazing.
The Bush Loft building has been constructed from sedimentary basalt rock from the landscape left by the eruption of Mt Porndon at the end of the road. The A frame sleeping loft is fresh and cosy with ample bedding however no heating or air conditioning. Cook up a meal on the butane gas stove and store your food in the 15lt 12v fridge powered by the sun. The hot shower is warmed by gas and solar electrics and there is a simple to use composting toilet.There are no street lights in the bush making for amazing views of the night sky so please arrive before dark to get your bearings and bring your torch.
There is parking on-site a short walk from your accommodation.
Brassiere fires are at our discretion and will be guided by current wind,moisture and fuel load conditions not just by the fire app general recommendations due to the rugged, inaccessible and flammable nature of this particular country.

This light-filled A-frame loft is a comfortable and cosy bohemian retreat- a space to rest, restore and connect.
Adjacent to the building is a simple to use eco-friendly compost toilet and hand basin.
There is a well-equipped bush kitchen with gas burners, cooking pots & pans, crockery & utensil, cooking oil,s&p, a selection of herbal teas and fridge. The space features alfresco dining and a bush bar with a view and hot shower.
In the outdoor space, there is a fire pit, seating, hammocks, and decor lighting creating a magical romantic vibe. Please note the campfire will only be available for use at owners discretion due to the high fire danger of this remnant bush landscape usually in late Autumn/Winter and early Spring when bushfire danger has passed. BYO firewood.No streetlight pollution here just twinkling starscapes!
The landscape of undulating terrain and remnant bushland is home to a healthy population of native animals and birdlife. There is a 5km loop track perfect for a wildlife-spotting walk. Nocturnal nightlife discovery walks by torchlight are a guest favourite around here. Day trips to the Great Ocran Road Beaches, Otways National Park, Otway Harvest Trail, Twelve Apostles, Mountains, waterfalls, and local crater lakes for a spot of fishing are popular adventures with our guests.
