Olivia's is a perfect base for all activities in the Yarra Valley, but you don't need to go far for an adventure, just take a compass and head into the forest. Find small waterfalls some amazing tree ferns and small creeks. It can be a challenge in there so unless you are fit for the challenge stick to the road.

Before a booking can be fully confirmed please send a copy of your drivers licence and a $300 bond. The bond will be refunded within 7 days of your stay.

Note on our cancellation Policy:

Sorry, but there is an abundance of wildlife, so Olivias is not suitable for pets.

For a whole bunch of reasons Olivias' is not suitable for children of toddler age.

Please remember you will be in the middle of a forest, (check out the aerial pic posted). That means you will not get perfect mobile coverage but you will get by, even if it does mean going outside and standing on one leg.

The internet is fine if you sit on one of the stools and use the kitchen bench. Because of the forest the only internet we can get is a wireless 4G modem with a funny little antenna stuck to a window. You will need to bring your own prepaid telstra mobile sim card.

"Olivia’s is a secluded paradise but only 10 min drive from Healesville. We felt enveloped by nature and away from everything while there but was so easy to get to the local sites and wineries (of which there are many beautiful ones). The house itself is well set out and with plenty of space - there were 4 of us and felt very spacious. Great place for a get away and would gladly recommend and/or go there again. 1 tip - even if you are going in summer, bring a jumper - the house is surrounded by forest so even when it is 30+ C in healesville, the house and grounds stay cool (but don’t worry that also means you can also have a roaring fire in summer!)"

"This place has to be the most majestic and picturesque hidden forest retreat only an hour from melb. My wife and i savoured every moment we spent there. Prior to arriving we had planned on exploring more of yarra valley but after falling in love with the cottage and forests we only went out for supplies and spent the whole time truly unwinding and enjoying the forest and surroundings of the cottage.. thank you for sharing your special place with us both"

"Beautiful secluded location. Saw plenty of local birds whilst drinking our morning coffee. Modern interior and amenities. Fully equipped kitchen. Very comfortable couches and bed. Hosts are very quick to respond if you have any queries. Highly recommend! We will be visiting again."

"Would highly recommend this place. The photos do not do it justice at all. It was an amazing experience being in the forest and so relaxing. There is so much to do in Healesville as well! Be sure to read their manual when you get there - they have lots of tips and places to go check out and visit. Thank you again Michael and Laurel, we will definitely be back."

"I selected Thoughtful Touches as my favourite element because I feel this applies to every other option and the entire experience was overflowing with these. The location is every bit as incredible as you’d hope, as is the drive up to it. Outside and inside the house are impeccable - the ferns are almost intruding on the property and the decor inside the house is a perfect fusion of modern and cottage which gives way to a luxuriously cosy combination. Wine on arrival, named itinerary landing page, pleasantly communicative hosts, robes, little amenities and treats hidden around the kitchen, a loaded sonos system featuring plenty of Frank Sinatra and Etta James, a pre-kindled fireplace and plenty of wood, an outdoor fire pit, the featured hanging chair overlooking the sprawling forest, and all only a breath away from fantastic wineries and picturesque rolling hills strewn with rows of vines, and this isn’t by any means an exhaustive list of loveable qualities. Do yourself a favour; stop contemplating and, instead, start booking. The worst part of the experience was leaving."

Thank you to Michael and Laurel for having us in your beautiful second home in the most magnificent location. The decor was warm, comfortable and inviting; the house was meticulously clean and had everything we required (and more...including a variety of breakfast provisions). We all loved staying at Olivia’s! It was a treat to stay there! We even had a visit from a lyrebird this morning, a complete surprise as I looked out the kitchen window! We would definitely recommend Olivia’s!...

Olivias in the Forest was great! We were greeted with exceptional scenery and wildlife. And the complimentary wine and foodies added that extra welcoming feel.

I sat under giants that have been there for years hiding in plain sight, I walked in gardens to soak up the atmosphere and I stood by the open fire to fill my senses whilst listening to it crackle.. I went there to lose myself, but found myself in doing so...
From the moment I drove down the driveway I was transported to another world, All the stress of everyday life from running a family of four kids, work, relationships, the day to day grind that everyone battles with had absolutely no chance of surviving in this little spot of paradise. Ive searched for a very long time for somewhere that I could just be still, take a deep breath and just be me and I found just that in my little hideaway.
And now to my hosts.... from the very first correspondence with Laurel and Michael it was like talking to an old friend. They went above and beyond in every little aspect to make me feel welcome. From the first text on the morning I was to arrive to the last when I finally dragged myself away in tears to go back home they were nothing short of magnificent. They have thought of every small detail and lovingly placed it into their home to share with us all. I have finally found a spot that I will return to many times a year.
I cannot recommend Olivias highly enough but if you don't believe me you will just have to go there and experience it for yourselves. I can guarantee that you will not regret it and your souls will be richer for doing so.
This place is soul food.....
