Conveniently located in a quiet street in the Snowmass Village area just a 10-minute walk to Ohakune Town Centre and only a short stroll to the iconic Carrot Adventure Park featuring a wonderful new bike pump track, obstacle course and river walkway.
Hire bikes from the local bike shop and hit the local mountain bike tracks. 20 Minutes by car to Turoa Skifield or 45 minutes to Whakapapa Ski Field. 35 minutes to the start of the Tongariro Crossing - with Shuttle Services to and from.
Redrock Hut offers lovely views of the fields while still one a 10 minute walk to the village. Redrock has all the comforts of home in a cosy, clean, fully furnished, rustic cabin. Redrock sleeps 7 guests, 6 adults max in three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Quality linen and towels are provided with every booking as well as tea & coffee, There's enough toxic overload in our lives - you don't need it on holiday! We only use eco-friendly and toxin-free cleaning products so you can feel cleansed and restored staying with us.
The full-sized kitchen and laundry/drying room offer all the amenities a family needs for their winter or summer mountain adventures. We provide a locked shed to keep your bikes/ski gear stored safely. The kitchen has everything you would need and full of op-shop treasures. There is always a great energy around the dining table, which is flooded with year round sun.
After a day on the slopes, bike or trails, this is a magical place to unwind with a glass of wine and reflect on the day's adventures with friends and family.
In the evening enjoy a movie on Chromecast or visit one of the many wonderful local restaurants and bars in Ohakune Township.

The charming mountain resort town of Ohakune, nestled at the base of Mt Ruapehu. A short drive from Turoa ski area, with its fertile soil rich with volcanic ash, Ohakune is known as the Carrot Capital of New Zealand, reflecting the importance of market gardening to this area.
The famous Carrot park is only a 10-minute walk with a new pump track to keep the kids busy. Take a dip in the local swimming pool or one of the many refreshing local watering holes. The town is serviced by a local New World for all your essentials. In winter take a short drive up the mountain road to Turoa ski area, you can hire a toboggan and play with the kids in the snow, or take a ride up the Sky Waka for amazing views over Tongaririo National Park in summer.
From indoor rock climbing to guided horse treks, short bush walks, world-class trout fishing and easy cycle trails, Ohakune has a plethora of family-friendly activities to enjoy. Hire bikes from the local bike shop or sip on a cuppa from one of the many local cafes/eateries.
Getting around
Travel to Ohakune by car, or for the more adventurous, take the scenic train from Auckland.
- Due to weight restrictions only children allowed in the top bunks.
- Lead guest must be present and other guests need to be named on the booking.
- No more than 7 people (max 6 adults)
- No parties or excessive loud music.
- It's very important that you book the correct amount of people. Any extra beds/linen used will be charged $30 per bed as our cleaner charges us per load. If you need to amend your booking please do so prior to your stay through Riparide.
- no ski/snowboard gear or bikes are allowed in the house. We have provided a locked shed for your use.
- Lastly, please note that we will charge for anything broken or missing, or if we need to pay for additional cleaning services out of the norm, such as deep cleaning curtains/carpet etc.
