A truly unique experience: spending an intimate and adventurous night in the snow, in a real Igloo!!!
Founder Jean-Francois Rupp will take you on an evening snowshoe adventure through the snow gums to reach his hidden eco-village and central tipi, where he’ll assist you to prepare your own French cheese fondue, then bid you goodnight for a cosy night's sleep in the heated, sustainable snow-domes.
We head off around 16.30 for an easy 30 minute Snowshoe walk (450m) through the picturesque snow gums to the eco-village where you’ll enjoy a delicious heart warming glass of Glühwein or hot chocolate outside by the fire.
You will then be invited in the central tipi with a fireplace, where you will learn the secrets to making a traditional and mouth-watering French fondue, with cheese imported for the occasion from French Alpine farms.
After a 3 course dinner we will sit around the fire sharing a few drinks and stories drinks (maybe even some dancing). We usually finish around 9:00pm and no later than 23:30.
Igloo to Skidoo guests will waive the rest of the group group goodbye and settle in their real snow IGLOO for a cosy night in a warm bed under lots of sheepskins.
Next morning, a hearty warm breakfast will be served under the main tipi.
Around 10:00am, you will be picked up by the Skidoo and enjoy a scenic ride back to the wire plain car park.
IMPORTANT: Please be aware that the night in an Igloo is weather and snow dependent. We will confirm your booking 48h prior to your stay. If we are unable to host you in an Igloo, we will upgrade you to one of our Snowdomes for free (pending availability) or offer you to come at another date....

SHOWSHOE & SNOW DOME DETAILS
Our Igloos are sustainably built with one idea in mind: simplicity is a luxury.
Think of it as an Igloo, but dry, with a view, warmer and with a comfortable bed and plush blanket! There are three snow domes at the village accommodating up to 12 people based on 4 sharing.
What to expect:
In all Snow-domes:
- A warm wood fire heater
- Hand washing facilities and towels
- Comfortable bedding (real mattress, bed linen, pillow, faux fur blanket, fleece liner and -10°c sleeping bag)
- One or Two double beds (depending on number of guests)

- Solar powered battery and USB port to recharge phones
- Extra blankets
At the Eco-Village:
Our eco-village is set-up in the wilderness of Hotham. Everything is carried in and out by man power to reduce our impact on the fragile alpine environment. We are completely off the grid, but for your comfort the eco-village are able to offer the following services:

Hot breakfast with tea, coffee, juice, toast and jams, Muesli, eggs and bacon rolls or Halumi rolls.

– Indulge a little longer and add a Dinner Plain Onsen package. (includes bus transfer and access to the Onsen warm bath, spa and sauna.)
– Opt for a one hour skidoo tour around the Hotham resort.
WHAT TO BRING
Warm clothes, comfortable waterproof shoes, beanies, gloves, toothbrush, pyjamas, all in a little backpack. And a swimming costume for the Onsen, if you book that optional extra.
You will also be sent a 'How to Prepare for your Experience Guide' prior to the date.
WHAT IS THE TOILET SITUATION?
It’s good! We have a very cute dry toilet. It’s clean, and does not smell at all. Some guests have called it the cutest dunny they have ever seen!
