Wombat Valley

We set off towards the deep east of Victoria. We all hadn't spent much time in this part of the world so were super keen to see what it was all about!! On the way after making a quick stop at the Noojee Bridge we headed out to Wombat Valley.

The unusual absence of electricity and no phone reception was an amazing escape for the long weekend after being tucked in the city all week. We blew up the flamingo and headed to the Blue Pool at Briagolong for a refresh and a few cans by the water.

Rock jumps, rope swings and rock pools was an amazing way to spend a few hours as the sun went down. Chopping up firewood and listening to the sounds of the forest was a perfect way to cap it all off!

Where We Stayed

Kookaburra Cabin at Wombat Valley

If you are looking for something which is completely different to 'normal' this is the place!! With no electricity and everything running on gas it was an amazing escape!! The fireplace with wood at the ready with the rain on the tin roof and the old gas lights was exactly what we were looking for as a getaway. With the ability to sleep 10 there was plenty of room even for our precious pups!!...

Blue Pools
Tucked at the base of an enormous hill, with a pebble beach perfect to lay on in the sun and have a few beers. A dog friendly lake gave the dogs a much loved play in the water whilst we all drifted on flamingo lilo's basking in the arvo sun! Rope swings, small and large cliff jumps let us test our nerves as the day went on. A secret little gem hidden deep in the east, with very few people enjoying it on a 38 degree day....
Farm Land
After having a break in the lake, we drove back to our accommodation and came across the most picturesque farm property. With the sun slowly setting over the hill it was the perfect time to have a few beers and chase the dogs around in the paddock! An easy spot to find but hands down one of the highlights of the trip....
Noojee Trestle Bridge
Set in a beautiful tall forest, the majestic Noojee Trestle Bridge is the tallest surviving wooden trestle bridge in Victoria. With the ability to walk under and on the bridge in the lush forest with a beautiful creek underneath, this was the perfect way to start our adventure off the grid....
