A Perfect Island Retreat

We knew we were in for a treat when we drove up the driveway and saw The Shed House – it was exactly what we needed after a week at work.

The exterior and interiors just had the aesthetic we love; cosy and clean, with soothing decor, it's the surf home you'd retire in. We spent our first day exploring some of Phillip Island before the rain came and set in for the weekend. Henry went for a surf at Smiths Beach and the girls spent time getting to know the local cuisines and finding somewhere nice for dinner. We spent the night eating tapas and drinking cocktails, then headed back to the house to chill by the fire. We had a great catch up on life since we hadn't all caught up for a few months.

The next day, we had bagels for breakfast, fed the magpies hanging by the back door and explored the island even more, heading to multiple locations that made us fall in love with the place. We ventured to the local winery, headed for lunch and then spent the rest of the afternoon drinking wine by the fire and having a good laugh together. The girls had fun using the indoor swing, though we all had a kick of youth whenever we got back to the property.

The last day started slow. We all sat and ate breakfast together, then decided to go to the local cafe for coffee and chai lattes before searching for some Highland cows on Churchill Island. Whether you're a family or a bunch of friends getting together, The Shed House has everything you could need for a fulfilling escape. You're close to shops, the surf and local wildlife – what more could you ask for?
