So Close, Yet So Far
Adventure in Coasters Retreat, Sydney, NSW, AU
It was a chilly Friday evening when a cute ferry picked us up from Palm Beach Wharf. While we sailed across Pittwater we could see the illuminated sky above Sydney. But we were leaving all the hustle and bustle of the city behind us, and just a few minutes later we arrived at Coasters Retreat, and made our way to "Seabird" - a tranquil house nestled by the water.
Once we arrived, it was hard to imagine that we were so close to the city. It was such a peaceful place with roaming wallabies and kookaburras around. The house itself was thoughtfully designed with a natural look where every detail is considered. The crackling fire kept us warm at night and there were plenty of board games to be entertained for weeks.
Best of all, it's surrounded by nature. In front of the house, you can jump straight into the water. We also made use of the stand-up paddle board and kayaks provided by the host. Behind the house, there are tracks into Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park. We did some bushwalking with spectacular views across Pittwater as a reward. We were reluctant to leave but home was just a short ride away. Loved this little weekend getaway!...
