Glamping among the Treetops
Adventure in Kinglake West, Yarra Valley, VIC, AU
Among the summer crowds, we set off to our little slice of paradise surrounded by the towering treetops of King Lake National Park. Making our way through the winding hillside of the Yarra Valley were greeted with a warm welcome from the property owner, who showed us to our glamping home for the next two nights.
You are equipped with all of your cooking and relaxation needs, including an esky, tea and coffee, BBQ, shower, eco-toilet and an array of games. All we needed was some food and a thirst for adventure. The remote privacy of the accommodation was a highlight, allowing us to disconnect from work and technology, with little to no service and we were able to unplug and enjoy the magnificent bush setting, resident wildlife and starry night sky.
Enjoying the open deck and time outdoors, we started the morning with a relaxing yoga flow and outdoor shower among the green landscape. After which, we took to exploring the local community and King Lake National Park, which included a stunning 12km hike through the lush ferns, tall eucalyptus forest and down to the flowing Mason Falls. It was a truly incredible experience to see how the ecosystem has bounced back after the Black Saturday fires in 2009.
After finishing the hike, exhausted yet for filled, we treated ourselves to a meal at the local Flying Tart bakery and made our way back to the accommodation to enjoy a wine and make the most of our time away....
