Magic Valley

Summer in Victoria is a crazy time for a lot of people, ourselves included, so a weekend away was essential. We packed the pooches in the car and headed out to the Possum Cabin at wombat valley.

When we got there, we were greeted by Ken, who was able to help us find some beautiful spots to go explore while we were visiting. We were able to have a fire out the front of the cabin and cook our food in the fire, enjoy a few drinks and just chill out with the noises of the surrounding bush.

The next two days we spent exploring some amazing places in the area, including the blue pool, billy goats bluff, a bunch of rivers and lakes and left feeling like we were back to our roots and refreshed!

Things We Did

  • Swim
  • Walk
  • Lake
  • River
Swing in to Blue Pools
Blue Pools is a beautiful spot, and it took me back to being a kid swinging off rope swings and jumping off high things into water....
Blilly Goats Bend
We drove up the Billy goats bend road to the campsite to find an epic lookout, overlooking the Mitchel river and the gorge. There is a walking track that follows the river for around 25kms....
Sunrise at Lake Wellington
We woke up early and drove down to lake wellington and witnessed a magical sunrise over the water....
Freestone Creek
We took the dogs down to Freestone creek and explored the area, there's four-wheel drive tracks and heaps of swimming spots, the dogs absolutely loved swimming and chasing the butterflies...
George Creek Streamside
We explored the George Creek Streamside Reserve with the dogs, and there are a few different walking tracks alongside the creek....
Lunch at Lake Glenmaggie
We stopped at Lake Glenmaggie for lunch and sat right at the water's edge....
