Glorious Glut Farm

Luxury, friendship, woodfire pizza and endless laughs, the Glut Farm was the perfect place for my friends and I to come together after being apart for so long. It was our home for the weekend, a place to relax, soak in some fresh air, explore the gardens and hike through the Australian outback.

The Glut Farm is situated about two hours west of Melbourne. It’s hosts, Larry and Sally welcomed us in with open arms and ensured we had the best possible stay. They had made us fresh bread, provided fresh eggs from the coup, a bottle of delicious wine and even some home-made Jams for our delight.

The house is fully stocked, with everything that you would find in your own home. The vegetable garden out the back is full of organic fresh produce. The hosts would even supply one of the local restaurants with their vegetables throughout the year. You can forage through the garden and find fresh strawberries, kale, snow peas, herbs and so much more.

Lounge around on the deck or take your rods and fish for a few Red Jackets in the dam in the front of the house. The property backs onto Mt.Cole and you can find a walking track to the surrounding locations close by.

Please be sure to ask the hosts to fire up the woodfire oven and treat yourself to some of your favourite pizzas while you enjoy the views with your friends.

The weekend at the Glut Farm was the perfect opportunity for my friends and I to reconnect and rejuvenate after being apart for so long.

Try your hand at making some delicious woodfire pizza in your backyard. We failed on a few of the first attempts. Please flour the trays, then add more flour to be safe! Larry and Sally will also offer to help and they are the real pros. Our version still turned out delicious once we got the hang of things....

A short walk from the property will take you to Hutchings track. This will lead you in multiple directions and please pick the way that works best for you. It is a beautiful bush walk. Witness enormous gumtrees and the great Australian outback....

A 30-minute walk from the property you will find yourself at Raglan falls. The sounds of slowing water and songbirds allow you to submerge yourself in the sounds of nature. The waterfall was at a slow stream in summer, but the views and experience were well worth it....
