The View From Above
Arriving at the Wollombi Birdhouse we fell in love with the picture-perfect lush green landscape. Walking up the spiral staircase and taking in the vista of surrounding grasslands, we immersed ourselves in nature. The treehouse has elevated views, embraces an ancient tree and took us away from the distracting thoughts of our busy lives. The accommodation is unique, charming and the surrounds tranquil. The Wollombi Birdhouse contains all that you need for a comfortable stay.
We woke up to gentle rain on the treehouse roof and watched the mist roll over the surrounding paddocks. We headed into town, first visiting the Wollombi General Store for some breakfast and coffee. We explored various small-town shops filled with an eclectic variety of products. For lunch, we headed to the Wollombi Tavern, just a short walk down the road from the Birdhouse. The food was great and the tavern, like the rest of the town, is enriched by a certain special heart-warming Wollombi charisma.
On our final day at the Wollombi Birdhouse, we made sure to hit the local galleries. The owners of the Birdhouse run the Roadside Galley where they showcase the creativity of local artists in many mediums including some amazing upcycled sculptures. Our last stop before we left Wollombi’s historic village was Myrtle & Stone for some delicious coffee and cake.
Yet another amazing, relaxing escape thanks to Riparide....
