Long Tide

Skene's Creek, Great Ocean Road, Victoria
The Great Ocean Road has always been a go to for sea change, an escape from the city. Winding between forest and sea we gathered ourselves up and set off to celebrate a birthday and find some open spaces away. Just inland from Skene’s Creek and with plenty of day trip action all around we secured a home away from home and spent the next couple of days, taking drives through the Beech Forest and Great Ocean Road. Spoilt for choice really!...

Hidden down a bit of a dirt track in a clearing on a hill, the retreat is hosted by the perfectly accomodating and friendly, Jackie, Dale & their three chocolate Labradors (You should have seen our stupid faces when we saw them) The Barn that makes for accomodation is warmly setup with a wood-fire, all the tea in the world, fully equipped kitchen and plenty of blankets, board games and nooks for reading....

Dale was kind enough to give us a bit of a tour as the sun was dipping past the horizon, we wandered around the grassy area while the dogs chased a ball and stopped by Jackie’s studio where was finishing off some jewellery, Jackie incorporates vintage glass and other sourced materials into her works...
