We had a great stay at Kallaroo with a group of friends. The property is peaceful, with beautiful views and plenty of space to relax and unwind.

Highlights included spotting platypus in the river, ex...ploring the farm, meeting the animals and soaking in the hot tub while taking in the scenery. Evenings around the fire pit were the perfect way to end the day.

The cottage was comfortable, well equipped and had everything we needed for a weekend away. Kallaroo is the perfect spot for anyone looking for a relaxing country escape with family or friends.

The time my partner and I experienced at Kallarroo Farmstay was incredible!
All the ammenities that we could hope for, and incredibly warm and attentive hospitality from Bea. We also had the delight o...f the company of Buzz (our amazing Meremma Chaffuer around the property), and several animals on the Property. The views and serenity were a spectacular setting for winding down and forgetting the stresses of daily life, if even for a bit!
We will definitely be back at some stage!

We had an absolute ball at Kallarroo. Secluded, gorgeous property. So much to do and see on the property. The only negative being that we booked for too short a time!

We were greeted warmly by Bea an...d Bas (their beautiful dog). The cabin had everything you could want and Bea was a wonderful host. There when you need her, invisible outside of that!

Also loved the freedom we were given with the property. Free to roam, interact with the friendly and beautiful animals- just remember, bring carrots, its the quickest way to make friends.

We will be recommending Kallarroo to everyone and have already started planning our next visit. 12 out of 10!

City girl turned mountain mum. In 2020, we traded traffic for trees and moved to the Snowy Mountains to raise our twin girls surrounded by fresh air, open space, and real adventure. Life here is simple and full- slow mornings with strong coffee, days on the farm, winters on the ski slopes, and plenty of moments captured through my lens as a photographer. We’re grateful for this beautiful, grounded life and love sharing it with others.

Wildlife On The Property

If you're on the lookout, you're bound to see some wildlife, perhaps the local platypus family or a cute echidna. Birds include a range of colorful parrots and there are untold numbers of wombats, kangaroos and wallabies. Plus there are the paying residents- sheep and cattle, and our favourites - Horses, Scottish Highland Cattles, Alpacas and pheasants.

The Platypus Spotting Challenge

One evening, we followed a hot tip from our host and wandered down to the river to look for the local family of three platypus. We sat quietly by the water for around 15 minutes, and much to our surprise, we were lucky enough to spot them gliding through the river just as promised.

Met The Farm Animals

A highlight of exploring the property was meeting the local farm animals. We spent time with the Highland cows, said hello to the friendly horses and donkey, and even became quite fond of one of the emus, who we promptly named Steve for the weekend.

We spent part of the day exploring the property on foot, taking in the beautiful scenery and peaceful surroundings. The walk led us down to the river, where we hopped across the rocks and enjoyed spending time by the water before making our way back to the cottage.
