The clamping tent was luxurious camping at its finest! With every detail thought of. All we had to bring was food to stack the fridge and we had everything we needed and more!
The beautiful back drop... of bush and creek made for the perfect morning nature walk and wood gathering for the fire, and peaceful setting for morning coffees and afternoon wines, all while watching the horses nearby, mountain goats, array of bird life and a kangaroo every now and then.
We went for an amazing trail ride on the horses and a morning canoe down the river.
Endless photo opportunities and the only thing we disliked was leaving!
Already planning another trip to continue the exploration of the endless property and ultimate relaxation.
Thank you Turon Gates, the service was next to none and we would recommend this trip to everyone!

We loved our stay in a glamping tented villa . The property is beautiful, we had a nice walk along the river , patted the horses and watched the wildlife in the afternoon as we sat by the fire . The ...tent was nice and cosy, with the fire ready to go and plenty of wood to keep us warm during our stay. Plenty of walking tracks nearby to explore, we went to Valley of the dinosaurs which we loved. After a big day hiking we got to soak and relax in a big luxurious bath, we highly recommend this experience. Thank you for the complimentary wine and honey , will definitely be back.

Soren and Sonya first came to Turon Gates in 1972 on a camping trip. They fell in love with its natural beauty and, after 4 days, decided they would love to retire there some day. Their dream was to create a bush retreat close enough to get away for a few days but far enough to leave the hustle and bustle of the city far behind.

Kayaking
Paddle down the river on the property and take in the surrounding natural beauty. Canoes are available for hire or bring your own kayak or canoe.
Wildlife Watching
Renowned for some of the best birdwatching in the state, the protected woodlands along the fertile river flats attract regent honeyeaters, woodland birds, and birdwatching enthusiasts alike. The property is also home to native Australian wildlife like kangaroos, wombats, wallaroos, wallabies, platypus and gliders.
Fishing
If you have a fishing license and it's the fishing season there are trout and carp in the river so bring your fly rod with you.
The Drive In
The drive into the property itself is absolutely breathtaking! Driving along a ridge line until it deeps into the valley to the accomodation. So many perfect spots for sunsets, sunrises, picnics and hikes!

The Glamping is on a property with over 600 acres of land! The Glamping tent runs right along a little creek, which is beautiful to walk beside for kilometres on end.

Take a scenic ride along the Turon River, cross rivers and enjoy the magic of the Australian bush. Young children can be walked on our ponies.

Bushwalking Hiking
All city stresses and worries disappear as you walk in the bush, crossing rivers, listening to birds and spotting wildlife.
Take some sandwiches and follow our marked trails. We have trails for an hour, 2 hours, half-day and even full-day hikes for all levels of fitness and ability.

Outdoor Equipment Provided

Hiking Bird Watching
The Turon and Capertee Valleys' have always been famous for amazing birdlife. Aside from the Wedge-Tail Eagles soaring along Eagle Hawk Drive on the eastern side of the valley, the large assortment of birds never fails to impress. Springtime (September to November) is the best in terms of numbers, a good assortment is prevalent all year round. Enjoy from your balcony or go for a hike.
Capertee Valley
The Capertee Valley is recognised internationally as an Important Bird Area (IBA) and one of the 50 top birdwatching locations in the world. A diversity of habitats has resulted in a proliferation of bird species finding refuge here. Surrounded on all sides by spectacular sandstone cliffs, the valley is in transition zone where the forests of the Blue Mountains give way to the woodlands of the NSW western slopes.
Vegetation varies from semi-rainforest to open forest, grassy woodlands and farmland grasslands. Not as heavily cleared as many other rural areas, the valley retains large areas of the critically endangered White Box–Yellow Box–Blakely’s Red Gum Grassy Woodland and Derived Native Grassland. Many woodland bird species, whose populations have fallen alarmingly elsewhere, remain relatively common and easily seen here.

Gardens Of Stone National Park
The Gardens of Stone National Park forms part of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. 'Pagoda' rock formations cluster near sandstone escarpments, where erosion has sculpted beehive-shaped domes. Banksia, dwarf casurinas and other wind-pruned heathland plants give the area its garden-like appearance. Pagoda rock formations form when ironstone plates occur in sandstone. As sandstone hardens and is eroded due to weathering, ironstone is all that remains.
Wollemi National Park
Wollemi National Park is the largest wilderness area in NSW and forms part of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. The Park is a maze of canyons, cliffs and undisturbed forest.

Blue Mountains is home to some of the best Rock Climbing in Australia that we had to take advantage of whilst in the area!
Horse Riding
Experience horse riding in the Blue Mountains, cross rivers and enjoy the magic of the Australian bush with our experienced guides. We cater from beginners to experienced riders. The rides are grouped by ability (unless otherwise requested) so that if you are experienced, you can trot, canter and even swim with your horse in the river. Rides are limited to 5 people per ride.
