We enjoyed our long weekend at The Barn immensely. The property itself is a charming, rustic design, the modern kitchen was great for preparing meals for the crew, the fireplace was warm and welcomin...g. And with local activities like the Thredbo River and Wildbrumby distillery so close, there is something for everyone.

Sonja was great to deal with and very helpful.

Snow Sports At Thredbo

The Kosciusko region of Australia offers a wide range of winter sports activities. It contains the alpine ski resort of Thredbo which is famous for having Australia's longest runs and vertical drops. It also contains the combined Perisher and Blue Cow ski resort which is renowned for the huge variety of its snow terrain. The Snowy Mountains region is also bisected with cross-country ski trails. It is possible to toboggan in set areas of both resorts. Thredbo also offers a bob sled run (which is open throughout the year).

Hiking Thredbo In Summer

Experience the natural beauty of Australia’s highest mountains in summer as you walk and hike some incredible alpine trails. With tons of glacial lakes, unique flora and fauna and mountains as far as the eye can see, it’s a must do whilst visiting Thredbo throughout summer.

Summer Scenic Chairlift

Taking a tourist chairlift ride is a must do during summer. The ride takes 15 minutes one way and rises 560 vertical metres, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys of the Kosciuszko National Park.

Kosciuszko National Park

The Kosciuszko Express chairlift provides access to ski runs and offers panoramic mountain views year-round. The Mount Kosciuszko summit walk leads to the top of Australia’s highest peak. Wildflowers dot the mountains of Kosciuszko National Park in spring and summer. The trout-filled Thredbo River winds through the village.
