Two eco-friendly Tiny Houses are set on 63 acres of peaceful bushland near Jindabyne, NSW. Mighty gum trees rest on hills rolling down to the rumbling Mowamba River where deer and kangaroos roam.
The off-grid Tiny Houses are set up with everything you need in a unique setting. The furnishings are plush, there is a fully-equipped kitchen and bathroom and reverse-cycle heating/cooling, but the rare joy is the location. Silence never sounded so good and the stars at night are a wonder.
The property, Big Yard Escapes, is close to the ski fields of Thredbo and Perisher, world-class mountain bike trails and Australia's highest mountain in the Kosciuszko National Park. The region is also known for its bushwalking, trout fishing, waterskiing and sailing on Lake Jindabyne, and natural beauty.
Big Yard Escapes also has a website with videos.

My husband and I spent a recent Summer weekend at Bushland, an off-grid tiny house hosted by Big Yard Escapes. Our original reason for travel was a quick getaway for my birthday but upon arrival it wa...s apparent that we both needed to switch off, get some rest and soak in some nature; Bushland was the ideal location for this. Quiet, secluded, serene - the perfect setting to read, relax and just be. We enjoyed the walk to the river plus visits from wildlife, the joy of birdsong and the scent of the eucalypts in the fresh air of the morning and the warmth of the afternoon. We look forward to coming back in the cooler months to enjoy time by the fire.

Totally Recommend The Tiny House Cabin, set in a beautiful valley near a creek with your own fireplace right in front of the cabin. The cabins are fantastically fitted out and a lot of fun to stay ove...r in.
We checked out the thermal Caves near Mt Selwyn and did the waterfall track in the Snowy Nat. Park.
Best part is dinner and few drinks chatting around the fire with the stars overhead
Totally awesome weekend

We love the outdoors, during winter you can find us in the mountains skiing and snowboarding. When it warms up we like 4x4 camping, mountain biking, and sitting around the camp fire with friends. We have found our forever home in the Snowy Mountains and called it Big Yard Escapes which we hope you will enjoy as much as we do.

Fishing The Mighty Mowamba River

Slide out of bed early whilst the trout are biting and head down to the Mowamba River. Legend has it that fly fisherman come from near and far to fish this waterway. The river is about a 5-10 minute walk from the tiny house via one of the numerous access points.
When you're all said and done, jump in for a dip.
Rods and tackle are also available for hire in Jindabyne and Cooma.

Snowy Vineyard Microbrewery

Brewed and cultivated on the property, this microbrewery & vineyard is tucked away for good reason. You won't find queues out the door, parking is aplenty and the warm fire is a welcome sight on a chilly day. Whilst it's a good 45 mins drive from the accommodation you won't be left disappointed or empty handed. Try the Fish Tacos, or if you need a palate cleanser, go the cheese platter! Pop in and say G'day to Liz and Bart for a coupla.
