Two eco-friendly Tiny Houses are set on 63 acres of peaceful bushland near Jindabyne, NSW. Mighty gum trees rest on hills rolling down to the rumbling Mowamba River where deer and kangaroos roam.
The off-grid Tiny Houses are set up with everything you need in a unique setting. The furnishings are plush, there is a fully-equipped kitchen and bathroom and reverse-cycle heating/cooling, but the rare joy is the location. Silence never sounded so good and the stars at night are a wonder.
The property, Big Yard Escapes, is close to the ski fields of Thredbo and Perisher, world-class mountain bike trails and Australia's highest mountain in the Kosciuszko National Park. The region is also known for its bushwalking, trout fishing, waterskiing and sailing on Lake Jindabyne, and natural beauty.

This was a beautiful little escape for part of our ski trip! We loved being in our own little space, it was cosy and had everything we needed. The view, comfy bed, warmth of the house, the shower and the night sky were all highlights for us. Can't wait to come back!

Out of all the tiny house locations I have been to so far, this is by far the best. The surrounding nature and wilderness is plentiful with the most beautiful river system.
Craig was super helpful and... accomodating with advice and information when we had run into him on the land.
Unexpectedly, we even managed to have a fish at the base of Perisher Ski resorts! Wild.

We love the outdoors, during winter you can find us in the mountains skiing and snowboarding. When it warms up we like 4x4 camping, mountain biking, and sitting around the camp fire with friends. We have found our forever home in the Snowy Mountains and called it Big Yard Escapes which we hope you will enjoy as much as we do.

Mowamba River
Enjoy 600m of river frontage to sit beneath huge trees and hear nothing but mountain water tumbling over boulders.
Glorious Night Sky
See stars like you have possibly never seen them before outside the Tiny Houses at Big Yard Escapes.
Wildlife On Your Doorstep
See kangaroos, deer and lots of birds through your oversized bedroom window.
Creek On Big Yard Escapes Property
On Big Yard Escapes property itself, there's a beautiful river only ten minutes walk down the hill.
The owner of the property, Craig, told us that upstream there's a deep waterhole. The contours of the land and some cattle tracks will try to take you downstream too far, so veer left and go and find that waterhole that he told us about!

Big Yard Escapes Farm Paddocks
The property at Big Yard Escapes is vast and isolated, and a neighbour even runs cattle on the property so you might see a few if you go exploring!
There are also heaps of kangaroos much away at the lush green grass. Despite the fact that the whole country is in drought, this property managed to maintain a lush and fertile feel to it, which was pretty refreshing!
