COTTAGE DETAILS

The cottage has a cozy mountain country charm ambience with high ceilings and exposed timber beams. It has a fireplace and a smart TV. The kitchen is fully equipped for both short term and long term stay. It has a refrigerator and freezer, dishwasher, 4 hob gas cooktop, oven, microwave, hot water kettle, nespresso coffee machine, few condiments such as salt, pepper, sugar, olive oil, coffee, tea, few herbs and spices.

All linen is supplied including bathrobes.

This property will appeal to anyone who loves gardens. Set within 24 acres of historical Dennarque Estate, the gardens are regarded by many as one of the best cold climate gardens in Australia. The gardens were originally designed over 135 years ago by the then Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney director, Charles Moore.

The Gardens still retain a large number of original plantings that were introduced from various countries around the world planted in the late 19th Century. There are many rare species of maples, rhododendrons, camellias, dahlias and many old tree ferns which grace the gardens. Rarely open to the public, Dennarque Estate is now available to in-house guests staying at Hydrangea Cottage.

Mount Wilson is a heritage garden village less than two hours from Sydney. It is on one of the highest points in the mountains. Mount Wilson has unique tree ferns which are native to this area. There are many walks within the village. It is a photographer's paradise especially during the autumn season when the colours provide a spectacular display.

Please note the village of Mount Wilson is listed under a heritage conservation order. There are no shops within the village, the closest being Blackheath 30 minutes drive from Mount Wilson.

The gardens are for the exclusive enjoyment of the paying guests. The gates must be left closed at all times after entering and exiting the property.

- The cottages are smoke-free zone. Care must be taken with any cigarettes outdoors due to bushfire hazards. Please do not discard any cigarette butts.

- Minimum age of primary renter should be 21. The Property will not treated as a “party house” and any such activities are strictly prohibited.

Beautiful stay in the blue mountains. Only about 30 mins from all the main attractions and towns. It was nice to be hidden away... the perfect place to be if you want to disconnect and relax. The cott...age was so cosy and we really enjoyed absorbing all the surrounding nature and roaming through the well-kept gardens. We loved that the owners had shared recommendations for local eateries and other tips during our stay. Our only suggestion is that the Dennaraque estate should add a bit more personal touch to the kitchen essentials and welcome pack. Overall it was amazing. We will definitely come back. Thanks, Lata!

Was the absolute perfect place for a romantic anniversary weekend. Quiet, peaceful whilst still having access to wifi and tv if wanted. The electric blankets in the gorgeous loft bedroom were very w...elcome as we were there in the dead of winter. Firewood was well stocked too, thank goodness. When the rain eased a walk around the grounds and a hit on the tennis court was lovely. We will definitely be back.

Dennarque Estate is known for its beautifully manicured gardens, and for the three days we were there, we ensured a long walk every day to cover every inch of the estate.

From almost-riped cherry trees to every single type of flower you could imagine, and even a traditional Japanese garden- we spent hours walking along every pathway in Dennarque Estate.

If you go for a drive along the Bells Line of Road, we recommend taking a detour to Mount Wilson! With stunning lookouts and rainforests, it is perfect for an afternoon wander. We particularly loved wandering through the Cathedral of Ferns, a short and tranquil walk amongst majestic stands of tree ferns and scrambling vines.

Waterfall Circuit Track

You will be in awe of the superb rainforest vegetation including giant coachwood, sassafras, corkwood and tree ferns, as well as beautiful waterfalls on Waterfall Creek. The track takes you past two waterfalls, one small and one large, then returns to the reserve.
