Crackenback 1884 was the perfect location to base ourselves between jindabyne and thredbo! The cabin was small and cute, perfect for a family of 3 (2 adults and a baby!). Recommend getting up to Dead Horse Gap for a play around in the snow and a toboggan!

Thredbo Perisher Area In Kosciuszko National Park
You'll pass through a variety of settings on this 6km hike, including tall eucalypt forest, outcrops of hefty granite boulders, and flowering and fruiting heathland. Then, of course, there’s the waterfall itself, which is wonderfully peaceful.
Snow Sports
The Kosciusko region of Australia offers a wide range of winter sports activities. It contains the alpine ski resort of Thredbo which is famous for having Australia's longest runs and vertical drops. It also contains the combined Perisher and Blue Cow ski resort which is renowned for the huge variety of its snow terrain. The Snowy Mountains region is also bisected with cross-country ski trails. It is possible to toboggan in set areas of both resorts. Thredbo also offers a bob sled run (which is open throughout the year).
