Dennarque Estate is a private property of historical significance, established in 1880s by Edward Merewether. The Estate has 24 acres of award winning, manicured cool climate gardens which were originally planted by Charles Moore from Royal Botanical Gardens Sydney. The gardens are not open to the general public; however, in-house guests have access to the gardens.

There are 4 cottages on the Estate which can sleep 12 persons.

Koonawarra comes from the indigenous word "gkoonawarra" meaning "a high point of land with smooth, round stones". Koonawarra is situated on the highest point in Mt Wilson.

Koonawarra has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms with ensuites and a 3rd bathroom in hallway. It has 1 King size bed and 2 Queen size beds. The kitchen is fully equipped with all mod cons. There is a sunroom with dining for 6, a lounge with fireplace

This property will appeal to anyone who loves gardens. Set within 24 acres of historical Dennarque Estate, the gardens are regarded by many as one of the best cold climate gardens in Australia. The gardens were originally designed over 135 years ago by the then Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney director, Charles Moore. The Gardens still retain a large number of original plantings that were introduced from various countries around the world planted in the late 19th Century. There are many rare species of maples, rhododendrons, camellias, dahlias and many old tree ferns which grace the gardens. Rarely open to the public, Dennarque Estate is now available to in-house guests staying at Koonawarra.

Guests can enjoy the 24 acres of gardens, play a game of tennis, or wander through the many garden paths.

Mount Wilson is a heritage garden village less than two hours from Sydney. It is on one of the highest points in the mountains. Mount Wilson has unique tree ferns which are native to this area. There are many walks within the village. It is a photographer's paradise especially during the autumn season when the colours provide a spectacular display.

Please note the village of Mount Wilson is listed under a heritage conservation. There are no shops within the village, the closest being Blackheath 30 minutes drive from Mount Wilson.

* The gardens are for the exclusive enjoyment of in house guests and are not open to public.
* The gates must be left closed at all times after entering and exiting the property.
* Shoes must be taken off upon entering the property.
* The cottages are smoke-free zone. Care must be taken with cigarettes outdoors due to bushfire hazards. Please do not discard and cigarette butts in the gardens.
* Children must be supervised around water features.
* Guests to refrain from climbing any trees.
* Guests must refrain from accessing any work areas including nursery and work shed.
* Guests must refrain from taking any flowers or plants from the gardens.
* Minimum age of primary renter is 21. The Property will not treated as a "party house" and any such activities are strictly prohibited.
* Pet Policy: Camellia Lodge is not suitable for pets.


- The gardens are for the exclusive enjoyment of the paying guests. The gates must be left closed at all times after entering and exiting the property.

- The cottages are smoke-free zone. Care must be taken with and cigarettes outdoors due to bushfire hazards. Please do not discard and cigarette butts.

- Minimum age of primary renter should be 21. The Property will not treated as a "party house" and any such activities are strictly prohibited.
