We fell so in love with this place when we saw the listing that we drove all the way up from Melbourne to stay here for a week. We didn't leave the property for the whole week - spent most of it tucke...d up by the fire with a book, taking walks around the property, cooking delicious food in the wood oven and having baths. We had such a perfect stay and Lynton was so helpful. Will absolutely be coming back.

We had a wonderful, wintery weekend here. The house was well-equipped, comfortable and cosy. Lynton was a reliable host and ensured we had everything we needed. Looking forward to staying again.

What a wonderful way to dissconnect from my busy schedule,
Upon arriving i was greeted by stunning scenery, and an incredible off grid home,
Kangaroos and rock wallaby's just scattered about loungin...g around the paddocks, ducks bathing in the dam.
Lynton had already prepared for my arrival, The water pumped and
Preheated.
Lynton dropped in to check if I needed any assistance. Helping wme with a few questions i had what amazing service.
I unpacked, ran myself a bath and sank in to heaven, in the huge tub.
I had a nap in the warm sun on the lounge under the stunning massive windows over looking the great dividing range.
Im looking forward to booking in again in the cooler months, so I can light the beautiful open fire and hope I pick when the snow falls..
My second day I head out on a stunning walk to Big hole and the marble arch.
On the way back a detour via Harold's cross, through the pine forest.
I lit up the wood fire stove, heated my water and another amazing soak.
I slow cooked lamb in the oven,
I Sat out the back and watched an incredible sunset, and watched the storm clouds roll in.
The storm arrived late Saturday night and I laid in bed watching the lighting.
Woke sunday packed up, mind you very slowly.. as I didnt want to leave.
The bed was comfy.
A few suggestions I went in summer -
- it was warm, so take bug spray the blow flies were jumbo jets.
-There were some games supplied, but a good book was all I needed.

The Big Hole And Marble Arch
Visit the Big Hole. A half drive from the Abbey starting at the Big Hole camping ground on the Shoalhaven river. This extraordinary limestone roofless cave is thought to be over 400 million years old. It’s over 100 metres deep and 50 metres wide. It can be reached from the Berlang Campground, wade across the Shoalhaven River and then continue along the track through dry eucalypt forest. The vast open chasm can be viewed from the lookout and, if you’re there in the early morning or late afternoon, you may see its resident lyrebird come out from its ferny grotto to feed.
Lowden Park
Visit the historic water wheel and enjoy the forest walks. Picnic and toilet facilities available.
Exploring Deua Np
Tucked away in Deua NP through beautiful bush plains and a river crossing we came across the Big Hole, a 400million old chasm now used from time to time by the military for abseiling exercises. Feeling adventurous, we continued along the track to the Marble Arch, a total 5 hr walk return to take in the gorgeous caves and flowing canyon systems Deua had to offer.
Braidwood
Visit the heritage listed town of Braidwood. A 45 minute drive from the Abbey.
Boarding At Perisher
As a great stopover from Sydney, continue on to Perisher to get to grips with some snowboarding after a great start to the season
