We had a wonderful long weekend at Brigadoon. Michelle was a fantastic host, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The cabin was cosy, comfortable, and the perfect place to relax and unwi...nd. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

You can step out of your cottage and explore the short trails and grasslands in your own backyard. There is a boundary so you won't get lost and on a day when you want to be close to home, it is a lovely added feature.

Uralla Nature Walk

Filled with a mixture of walks this nature reserve is best for those who want to soak in some sound of nature and take their time in the forest. There is a mix of easy and hard walks and some are accessible to all. Stewart track was my personal favourite as it was a gentle walk that was completely immersed in the forest. You can also hear the gentle trickles of the stream along the path.

Blue Rock Lake

Blue Rock Lake is one of our region’s best-kept secrets. Boasting Mt Baw Baw as a backdrop and it is hugged by the region’ signature rolling emerald green hills. This slice of heaven is located only 15 minutes from Brigadoon Cottages.

Bike Riding Along Tyers Junction Rail Trail

Enjoy rainforest, fern gullies, seasonal wildflowers and the adventure of some creek crossings along the way.

Secret Lookout

This is a spot we saw just after leaving Tarra-Bulga National park. It was a 3-5 minute drive from the park on Traralgon-Balook Road. It is a small turn off with an epic view.

Tarra Bulga National Park

This has to be one of Gippsland’s most iconic walks, and it’s one of the most family-friendly. It’s a great walk to take in the flora and fauna of the Strzelecki Ranges, and a walk over Corrigan’s Suspension Bridge is the must-do jewel in the crown.

Tarra Bulgar National Park

A 45-minute drive from the cottages, this national park features a host of walks and hikes ranging from 30 minutes to a few days. It offers beautiful views of mountain ash trees, native plantations and plenty of native birds. There is also a lovely suspension bridge that is a highlight.
