Just a heads up we currently have our daughter's German Shepherd, Mao staying with us. Mao has a loud bark but is extremely friendly and really just wants to say hello if she sees you.

We absolutely LOVED Little Church Bay. It was amazing. We thought the whole place was calming, we loved the aesthetic and enjoyed walking into town for coffee and dinner etc. The views were amazing, b...ut it just felt like home being there. Very relaxing - and we definitely will be back and recommending! :)

Little Church Bay is a slice of Taranaki heaven in New Plymouth. A lovely pavilion set in a quiet garden adjoining a family home. Perfectly furnished to capture the relaxed and quirky vibe of its beac...hfront location and this unpretentious little city, decorated with thoughtfully curated contemporary artworks and local artefacts. The bifold doors open out to a deck with views over the bay and beyond to Fitzroy Beach. You could sit there happily all day gazing at the sea, but the little gate at the end of lawn opens onto the coastal walkway, beckoning you to join New Plymouth’s citizenry on their easy-walking, riding and welcoming promenade. Families - children, parents and grandparents - on bikes, walking dogs, riding skateboards, carrying surfboards, fishing gear and picnic baskets. You can head north to Fitzroy for a swim in front of the surf club, and stop on the way there or back for a coffee or smoothie at any of several little cafes. Or walk south along the waterfront into the city (less than a kilometre away) for coffee and a sweet or savoury treat from Billow Sourdough Bakery, or a delicious fish dinner from the Hi-Fri fish caf. You can swim or surf right out the front of the house, or travel further afield to find great waves past Oakura at Stent Road, a cracking right hand point break. Taranaki is gorgeous, New Plymouth won our hearts, and Little Church Bay made it a dream stay.

I think we’re the first booking through riparide but we’ve seen the amazing reviews on other platform and we agree! Beautiful little place right on the water. Friendly and helpful hosts, fantastic sty...ling and a wonderful relaxed feel - going to sleep to the sound of the ocean is just the best.

We couldn’t recommend this spot highly enough.

We own a barbershop called Jetcharm Barbershop in New Plymouth & we live in New Plymouth. We returned from living in Sydney for over 20 years & are love living in New Plymouth.
