Classic, 1963 Beach shack, furnished with a designer eye. This space is a true haven, a true escape. Elevated at the highest point on the hill, a 450m walk to Beach 5, Tea Tree Hill is the perfect city detox. A simple combination of light filled, private & social spaces, inside and out.
Venus Bay remains the quintessential beach escape. There is so much of 'nothing' to enjoy. Bordered by the inlet on one side, and wild Bass Strait on the other, you are guaranteed wonderful coastal landscapes. Head down the road to Walkerville - facing the opposing direction, and with fantastic views of the prom, it's a must. Explore the 'Magic Beach' which is ideal for fishing and stand up paddle.
The inlet which you can access from the boat ramp of the second estate, or any of the parking area's along Tarwin river, is a haven for great fishing, bird watching, or straight out relaxing.
Wilsons Promontory is just over an hour away. This is a great day trip, pack some lunch and head off on one of the many hikes. Climb Mount Oberon for magnificent views across the National Park. Or head through the bush to Tidal Overlook for views looking back at Norman Bay before heading to Squeaky Beach to check out the waves and pristine beach.

Additional Information
SHACK DETAILS
Bedroom 1 - 1 queen bed
Bedroom 2 - 1 queen bed
(Additionally, 1 portacot and cot mattress for little ones!)
In an attempt to bring a little more romance, in December 2016 I added an exclusive outdoor bathroom featuring custom imported finishes, and beautiful Cocoon Eco Fire. All yours to indulge in and enjoy.
The art is original, and many furniture pieces have been commissioned by local artisan's - the side and coffee tables, the dining room centrepiece and the handles all locally produced.
Vintage European furniture by Cappellini and Erkhol, and accessories from travels all over the world have been used to finish the space. A Bang & Olufsen sound system drives the mood. Candles, essential oils, and unique lighting ensure the space can be tailored to whatever mood you're in.
The television is connected to a DVD player and XBOX. We have not connected the antenna - you're at the beach, get out there. Children's toys, drawing equipment & board games sit awaiting a rainy day, as do a diverse range of cook books, cooking equipment & design magazines.
Complimentary Whisky and Port await your call for a night cap, and fresh coffee by St Ali will get you up in the morning. NOTE the kitchen does NOT feature an OVEN - I use the bbq or fire pit to roast.
PLEASE NOTE
If possible, sleep with the window open, the sound the ocean is the best.
Pets are welcome - outside only please, there is an undercover deck to ensure they stay warm. Conditions apply to pets that must be taken indoors - please check with us regarding this prior to booking, to ensure your bond isn’t claimed.
Smoking is not permitted inside the house.
Preferred method of transport to beach and village is bicycle or foot. Bicycles are available to get you around during your stay.

An amazing space for unwinding, relaxing and getting away from it all for a few days.
Filled with luxe comforts like the outdoor bath, while still retaining the feel of a classic beach shack.
The ho...use’s proximity to the beach made for great walks and daily swims. We were even lucky enough to spot a seal one morning.
Looking forward to returning again one day!

I'm an avid traveller with a long bucket list!
I love a good adventure, and dream of far flung places... A night in a tent is as memorable to me as a five star hotel...I believe to truly experience a new environment, you need to be fully immersed in it - that's led to some interesting experiences, sleeping on the deck of a yacht, under tarps in the Tasmanian wilderness, & hanging off a cliff face in Nepal... That is the essence of travel to me - immersive experience.
I am a cyclist, a skier, an architectural enthusiast and a keen photographer. I escape the city every week for a new experience.

Walking The Wildness Of No 5 Beach
Nice walk along the beach. Perfect to relax and take in the wildness of the sea.

No 4 Beach
Only a short five minute drive from our accommodation, we set ourselves down on the beach in Venus Bay to watch the sun go down and see the sky colour itself in pastels.
Surfing
Venus Bay is a very open, exposed bay, facing into the south-west winds and waves. The beach is nearly 24 km long and has public access only toward the northern end at the Venus Bay settlement. Best with a low to moderate swell and north to north-east winds, however the shape depends on the bar configuration.
Walkerville
Walkerville has a semi-exposed beach break with inconsistent surf. Northwest winds provide optimum conditions. Mixed ground and wind swells with best conditions generated from the southeast. Beware of rips conditions can be hazardous.

Swimming
Take a refreshing dip in some of the finest swimming beaches in Victoria. In the warmer months popular ocean beaches like Cape Paterson, Inverloch, Venus Bay, Sandy Point and Norman Bay are the perfect swimming spots for families.
Dirty Three Wines
This a small winery is located in Inverloch. We enjoyed a couple of their best-selling reds. Really good vibes, with an outdoor area for sunny days.
Valley Plains Pottery
Ceramic studio where you can learn the basics of how to work with ceramics or just hang around and have a chat with Zak, who is the artist behind these beauties. He'll tell you about the whole process, which is really interesting.
