Additional Information
The KITCHEN underwent a complete remodel in the summer of 2016. Owned by someone who loves to cook, you will find it is fully stocked with everything you need to make and serve a delicious meal. The kitchen is open to the living and dining areas so you will never feel like you're stuck cooking while everyone else is having fun. The breakfast counter seats two.
The DINING area is set for four, but (with advance notice) can accommodate your dinner guests with an extension that allows seating for up to eight. Placemats and tablecloths are available for your use and there are plenty of dishes, silverware, wine glasses, and candles to set a gorgeous table.
The LIVING ROOM has plenty of seating, warm lighting, and fuzzy throws. It's a great place to gather. The wood stove keeps it cozy even on the coldest of nights. Firewood is available for your use. Please note: there is no TV, but there are games, books, Bluetooth speaker, etc. to keep you entertained (and high-speed wi-fi if you need to work or stream a good movie!)
The MASTER BEDROOM is in the loft. The views from the bed make you feel like you're waking up in a treehouse. While open to the living room below, it provides quite a bit of privacy due to the structural design. It has a Queen-sized bed with high-quality linens that will provide a super night of rest. Drawer storage and space to hang your clothes is abundant. The loft is served by its own 3/4 bathroom.
The DOWNSTAIRS BEDROOM contains Twin L-shaped bunk beds with good linens and sleeps two very comfortably. Beach chairs/towels, extra duvets, games, books, Lego and room for your things can be found in the large closet. Down the same hallway on the ground level, you will find the larger bathroom that was just beautifully remodeled with a spa-style shower.
The DECK is a great place to hang out when the sun is shining. It's the perfect spot to relax while you enjoy your morning tea/coffee. The patio table can seat up to eight when the weather is right for a meal outdoors. The BBQ is available for use year-round. Deer frequent the yard which feels worlds away from the rest of the world. Blackberries can often be found ready for picking all along the far side of the driveway.
The LOCATION is a 10-15 minute drive from the Clinton Ferry, 15-20 minutes to Downtown Langley (the Whidbey Transit bus stops in front of the house), just 1.5 miles to Maxwelton Beach, and generally no more than 20 minutes to anything and everything South Whidbey has to offer.
Guest access
This is a stand-alone A-frame cabin home on a 7,500 square foot lot and you will have it all to yourself during your stay. It's surrounded by a wall of trees and feels very private even though there are adjacent lots of similar size, most with homes occupied by permanent residents.
Other things to note
If you plan to bring a pet (no cats please!) we need you to please review our pet policy and notify us of this addition!

This hidden haven is everything and more!! It's close to the beaches, downtown Langley where my favorite ice cream shop is, and near a hidden gem park called Castle Park! Inside this house is the perf...ect retreat - styled to the 9's and so many fun old school games. I had a blast teaching my son how to play battleship! This place is a must stay for your stay on Whidbey!!

Hi! I'm Kirstin. My family and I have been hosting for ages and have always been pleased at the availability of rentals in all shapes and sizes. I'm brand new to being a host on Riparide and I'm very excited to share my personal vacation home with anyone who will relax and enjoy it as much as my family and I do!

Sand Dollar Hunting At Double Bluff Beach
I used to think that the days of finding sand dollars was over. As a child I would find them by the hundreds, but by the time I was a teenager the WA coasts were clear of them. At least I thought that was the case until we showed up at Double Bluff Beach. The tide was out and we could walk the beach, spotting hundreds of sand dollars, full clam shells, and beach wood huts. It was so fun showing the kids the fuzzy hair of the sand dollars! We played on the beach for HOURS. Definitely a beach we will continue to come back to over and over again.
Lunch At Flower House Cafe
Every adventure with kids requires a full belly! Flower House Cafe uses local coffee, organic ingredients, and has the most welcoming people. We sat outside under the flower pergola where we watched humming birds and honey bees pollinate the hanging baskets and drink from the garden fountain. There were options for both kids and adults, so we all left happy, full, and ready for adventure!
Ice Cream At Sprinklz
Downtown Langley is bustling with fun shops, unique breweries, cafes, and one of our favorite places – Sprinklz! We aren't always cone people, but you can get flavored ice-cream cones here, be it cookies and cream, chocolate-dipped coconut, or even M&Ms. Don't like ice cream? No problem, you'll feel like a kid in the candy shop in this actual candy shop! We like to grab a cone and walk around downtown. Don't forget to watch for whales and ring the town bell if you see any!!
North Kitsap Heritage Park
North Kitsap Heritage Park is a popular hiking destination near Kingston. Explore the vast network of trails - there are both singletrack and wider trails on decommissioned logging roads.
Fishing
The area is rich in Dungeness and Red Rock Crab (during open crab season). During the late Summer & Fall, salmon may be caught fishing right from shore.
Water Activities
Perfect for water lovers! The Kitsap Peninsula is your paradise. You'll find many ways to enjoy the water — from boating, sailing, diving, kayaking and fishing.
