Our stay was lovely, great views of the valley and we recieved freshly baked bread and eggs as soon as we arrived. We did a lovely walk at the Kauri Grove in caromandel forest, and there was a market on Saturday in the town.

We loved our stay! Karyn made sure we had everything that we needed & it was lovely to meet her on arrival and get a tour of her lovely place. Our cabin was cute & cozy with a stunning view. Perfect p...lace to stay if heading up the Pinnacles - Karyn had great advice for that activity also. 10/10 highly recommend!

This was a beautiful place to spend a scenic, quiet week. Karyn went out of her way to make my stay lovely, and all of the animals coming to visit were an added bonus each day. I will absolutely be back.

River Swim

This awesome swimming spot was recommended to us by a local and we were not disappointed. The water was perfect and clear and you can park on the roadside making it just a 2 minute walk to the river. The perfect stop after a long hike.

Moutain Bike Trails

The Hotoritori MTB Trail is located in the Kauaeranga Valley. This is an intermediate grade ride on 4 x 4 gravel tracks, native forest and pine forest tracks and streams.

Canyoning

The Sleeping God canyon tour is a vertical descent of over three hundred metres down a steep set of waterfalls involving abseils/rappels of up to 80 metres, exhilarating water slides and jumps as high as 14 metres into deep dark pools which are guaranteed to thrill the most intrepid explorer!

Check Out The Thames Markets

Held every Saturday from 8am – 12pm, the Thames Markets are a great place to pick up locally grown fruit and veg, plants, homemade preserves and much more. We enjoyed our morning wandering around the various stalls.

Pinnacles Trail

A track steeped in Kauri logging history, follows the old packhorse track that took supplies up to the kauri loggers working and living in the hills. Giant kauri stumps, abandoned logs, kauri dams and old tramlines can also be seen on this walk.. Walkers are rewarded with magnificent panoramic views.
