Seaside Nostalgia & Hot Tub Bliss

The weather Gods must've known of our love of steaming hot tubs and crackling wood fires when they turned on the cool, wet weather for our end of summer escape to Flinders. And we didn't mind one bit!

Arriving at Christa Lodge, we were blown away by the natural beauty of this property. Set amidst four acres of serenity, surrounded by eucalypts and overlooking sweeping country views, this beautifully styled, shabby-chic beach cottage was all this happy little fam could wish for! Being able to bring our dog along too really topped it off.

Stormy nights and crisp evenings proved our seaside stay was as equally suited for a winter escape as the sun-kissed adventure we'd imagined. Instead of lounging in the hammock or hitting the beach for a surf we fired up the INCREDIBLE cedar hot tub and soaked our worries away as we watched birds tip-toe across waterlilies in the dam. It was only a short walk into the tranquil village of Flinders where we found THE BEST sourdough we'd ever tasted and a host of cute cafes, art galleries and boutiques. We grabbed some beautiful local produce at the general store to cook up for dinner, before taking a drive to the nearby ocean beach where we were dwarfed by the breathtaking cliffs and huge rolling waves.

With its super cosy beds, soft linen, a well-stocked kitchen and an overall air of nostalgic homeliness, the cottage itself is gorgeous - but the real appeal for us was outside... Our youngest adventurer loved her first-ever jump on a trampoline and we joined her in awe of our natural surroundings. Between floating on the pontoon, sipping wine in the hot tub, lazing on the huge outdoor lounge or snuggling up by the fire pit, our only challenge was choosing where to relax!

This place is a true winner for the whole family, fur-babies included.
