Head in the Clouds

An ancient landscape of escarpments, valleys, rainforests and waterfalls make up The Blue Mountains and you get front row seats when you stay at The Hilltop Cabin. Perched at the highest peak of Mt Kanimbla, you’re practically up in the clouds! With its expansive views, you feel on top of the world.

The retreat is tied together with Logan Brae Orchard, the 100-year-old boutique, working apple orchard, full of history and charm. You can visit to meet the chickens and try one of their famous apple pies! Logan Brae Orchard. Guests are lucky enough to get a sample of products on arrival. We enjoyed the fresh apple juice (probably the best I’ve ever tasted), apple jelly and peach jam which we spread on fresh bread and added to granola bowls!

Hilltop Cabin is peaceful, restorative and intimate. There’s plenty to see and do nearby but it's hard to leave the property when there’s so much at your fingertips. Spot eagles soar over the valley as you relax in the plunge pool. Walk through the ancient landscape where kangaroos, wallabies, wombats and echidnas roam. Run a bath and lose yourself in the landscape, or stoke the fire and get cozy inside.

We got adventurous and visited Centennial Parklands and set off on a bushy mountain trail by horse at sunset. What an inspiring way to explore the land!

All in all - I guarantee you that you’ll feel centred at the cabin - the ideal escape no matter the occasion!

Horse ride through the Centennial Glen area of the Kanimbla Valley, with fantastic views of the Blue Mountains escarpments.

We rode in open paddocks, through natural bushland and over magnificent mountainside horse trails.
