Fun for all at Wai Tai

Arriving on Friday afternoon after another busy week, Wai Tai was exactly the spacious, charming and warm beach house we were hoping for. There was room for multiple families and activities galore, so we knew we were in for a treat.

We soon made ourselves at home and filled up the outdoor bath for an early evening soak. Relaxing in a hot bath with a glass of wine, amongst the cool winter twilight, is the best way to kick off the weekend. Afterwards, we lit the fire inside and enjoyed pizza in the warmth of the lounge.

The next morning, we woke early and headed straight to the coffee machine upstairs. With coffee in hand, we watched the sun rise over the ocean from the balcony. We utilised the bikes available and cruised down to the beach via the fun dirt track at Deep Creek Reserve. You'll find the ocean only a few hundred metres away.

We spent the weekend hanging out and riding the mini halfpipe in the backyard. We let the chooks roam around as we took turns attempting to drop in and warming up by the fire pit. With the trampoline and cubby house for the kids and the mini pipe for the older kids and adults alike, Wai Tai really has something for everyone. And when you feel like venturing out, Torquay has it all from oceanside hikes and world-class surf breaks to gourmet eateries in town. Our time at Wai Tai was as relaxing as it was exciting. Best enjoyed with friends and family, it's a beautiful ocean retreat promising fun for all ages.

A great short hike for all the family at two kilometres return. Starting at the steps down to Point Addis beach, the Koori Cultural Walk makes its way through bushland until you reach the cliffs overlooking Point Addis. Along the way, you can learn about the Wathaurung people and their culture. Stunning views from the cliffs await and be sure to keep an eye out for the paragliders who hover above!...

Definitely worth a look. Mortadeli is a 60s-inspired deli and sandwich bar. Great continental and meatball subs. You can even try a Maltese beer and grab takeaway picnic supplies....
