Romance in Venus Bay

We arrived at Tea Tree Hill on a cold and windy day, but felt right at home as soon as we opened the doors. Our first impression was: WOW!

The place breathes personality in every corner, and Daniel had everything ready for us. The lights were on (we arrived late in the afternoon), the place was warm and we opened a bottle of red that was waiting for us – thanks again, Dan.

We loved the outdoor bath; even on a rainy day, it's worth getting in. And if you really appreciate a good night's sleep, the beds and pillows here are some of the comfiest we've ever experienced. Also, the indoor eco fire will be your best friend during cold nights, so don't forget to bring a bottle of methylated spirits – you'll be all set.

Since the weather was a bit rough, we spent most of our time at home reading, cooking, brewing coffee – the manual coffee maker is a winner – and simply reconnecting with ourselves as the phone reception was pretty limited, which we personally appreciate when we escape from the city.

There are a few local spots worth mentioning, like Valley Plains Pottery. They do workshops and Zac is a really cool dude and passionate about what he does. We also loved Dirty Three Wines in Inverloch, with all the brews and wines being produced on site, and last but not least, Paddlewheel, in Koonwarra, which is a little farm store that we highly recommend for sourcing all your veggies. Most of them are organic, and Paddlewheel also has a stand in Prahran Market.

We definitely had a great time at Tea Tree Hill. Our time away helped us to come back to our busy lives feeling inspired and full of energy.

Ceramic studio where you can learn the basics of how to work with ceramics or just hang around and have a chat with Zak, who is the artist behind these beauties. He'll tell you about the whole process, which is really interesting.

This a small winery is located in Inverloch. We enjoyed a couple of their best-selling reds. Really good vibes, with an outdoor area for sunny days.

On our way back to Melbourne, we made a quick stop in Loch and enjoyed a great coffee in this beautiful place. We recommend going to the back where the tea room looks awesome!

This little farm store sources their products from the local paddocks and you'll definitely love them.
This is the best way to unwind and relax. Tip: if it's cold outside, don't be scared to jump in and experience how peaceful it feels. Thank us later!
