Upon arriving at SaltHouse Retreat, it didn’t take us long to get into relaxation mode. The house is architecturally designed, modern, spacious, and as we discovered, conveniently situated across from the dunes of Surf Beach!

After taking in the breathtaking view from the top of the cliffs and exploring Surf Beach, we made use of the well equipped kitchen and cooked dinner - which we then enjoyed on the front deck.

The next morning, we woke up to the sounds of crashing waves and birdsong - ah, the serenity! We enjoyed taking it slow, chilling in the lounge, reading and talking amongst ourselves before we headed out for some sight-seeing and swimming.

SaltHouse is ideally situated with many scenic spots, attractions and towns just a short drive away. During our stay, we explored the erosion-produced sea caves at Forrest Caves, walked the boardwalk and saw the spectacular views at the Nobbies. We ate some delicious fish and chips by Cowes Beach and enjoyed a classic romantic sunset stroll along the Colonnades.

Standout features of SaltHouse for us would have to be the beautiful sunken spa bath (perfect for ultimate indulgence) and the gas log fireplace (for the chillier nights). It’s the perfect coastal getaway if you’re craving some peace and rejuvenation.
