Country Lux and Truffles
Adventure in Neerim South, Gippsland, VIC, AU
If you're looking for a little luxury to rest your weary soul after a day of Gippsland adventures, I'd simply say, "we've found it!"
French Provincial styling met an incredible country escape at the stunning Scotch Hill Truffle Farm, where our own private wing of the main manor had us feeling like royalty. Come warm sunny days we'd be diving straight into the mountain-view pool but we were just as content to sink into the deep bath with the same view and make the most of the biggest bathroom I've had the pleasure of being in!
In typical Victorian style our summer getaway had us observing all four seasons in a day and it was a sweet treat to enjoy the flames of the wood fire and the steaming hot tub, despite it being February! Combining this with the outdoor chiminea we watched the weather dance across the rolling hills and the horses frolic in the nearby paddocks. Our walk around the expansive grounds saw us connecting eye-to-eye with beautiful friendly sheep and a curious alpaca, as we overlooked the farm's inspiring Truffle groves. On offer by the very hospitable hosts is a little tour of this area where one can learn all about this delicacy and their symbiotic relationship between the trees and the undergrowth.
Our trip to Scotch Hill was a beautiful retreat to a pocket of country paradise surrounded by natural beauty, with a venture to Toorongo Falls at the top of our bucket list. Being able to return to this high-end space after being out and about really elevated our weekend, and I could see myself happily returning here year round any day!
