A Weekend in the Valley

Nestled in amongst the rolling hills of the Kangaroo Valley is the cosy Bedford Bus. This 1976 bus has been transformed into a tiny-home, allowing its visitors to pull-up and wind down for the weekend, listening to all the sounds of the surrounding nature and watch as the clouds disappear into the hills. This gorgeous bus is parked on the lovely host Abby's property and is just a short drive to the popular river swimming hole under Hampden Bridge, and the centre of Kangaroo Valley town.

Over the weekend my friends and I enjoyed sipping on coffee at The General in town, exploring the surrounding townships like Berry and Gerringong, walking along Seven Mile Beach just past Shoalhaven Heads and spending a morning hiking up to the gorgeous Drawing Room Rocks.

Bedford on Scanzi allows you to soak in the peacefulness of the Valley or to relax and recharge. With the perfect balance of country to sea, adventure to chill, this spot makes for a perfect weekend away (Or more...)

Please note: Since this story was published, the Bedford bus has moved to a different, but equally amazing, property just down the road from the original location.

Just a few short towns away is the beautiful town of Berry. Take Berry Mountain on your way and soak in the views from the windy road. Once you're in Berry, you can spend a day drinking coffee from IV, pastries and coffee from Milkwood Bakery, lunch at Queen St. and gelato from the ice cream shop on the main street. 10 minutes East from Berry is Shoalhaven Heads and Seven Mile beach, where you can soak up the sunshine and dip your feet in the cool sea....

This Grade 4 hike is an absolute must when visiting the area... But please, don't make the mistake I did by wearing my Birkenstock sandals... It takes about an hour to get to the top, but once you do, the view is undeniable. Look over towards Gerringong and the ocean, and soak in the cool winds from the top....
