A Country Escape with Good Mates

A weekend away at Kallarroo Farmstay was exactly what we needed—a chance to slow down, reconnect, and spend quality time with good friends.

We arrived to a beautiful sunny afternoon and wasted no time settling into holiday mode. Drinks were poured on the deck as we caught up on life, soaking up the warmth of the sun and taking turns relaxing in the hammock while enjoying the peaceful farm views.

Later in the afternoon, we wandered down to the cascades for a picnic beside the water. The brave among us took a refreshing dip in the cool water before we slowly made our way back to the cabin.

As the sun set, we lit the outdoor fire and cooked dinner over the flames. The evening was spent sharing stories, enjoying a glass of wine, and toasting marshmallows under the stars. Simple moments, good company, and a beautiful setting made for a perfect start to our stay.

The next morning, we gathered around the dining table for a big breakfast, enjoying coffee and the warmth of the fire as the day slowly began. We spent the day exploring the property, crossing rivers, taking in the beautiful scenery, and meeting some of the resident farm animals, including horses, cows, emus, and a friendly donkey.

Later that afternoon, we soaked in the hot tub, chatting and enjoying each other's company while looking out over the surrounding countryside. As sunset approached, we wandered down to the river in search of the local platypus family. Much to our surprise, we were lucky enough to spot one gliding through the water.

Back at the cottage, we lit the fire once again and settled in for a cosy movie night before sinking into the incredibly comfortable bed, wrapped in beautiful linen for a restful night's sleep.

With fresh country air, beautiful scenery, and plenty of space to unwind, Kallarroo Farmstay was the perfect place to spend a memorable weekend with friends.

A highlight of exploring the property was meeting the local farm animals. We spent time with the Highland cows, said hello to the friendly horses and donkey, and even became quite fond of one of the emus, who we promptly named Steve for the weekend.

One evening, we followed a hot tip from our host and wandered down to the river to look for the local family of three platypus. We sat quietly by the water for around 15 minutes, and much to our surprise, we were lucky enough to spot them gliding through the river just as promised.
