Seeking Stillness
Adventure in Bilpin, Blue Mountains, NSW, AU
We headed to Bilpin for the weekend for a much-needed way to unwind, get outdoors and put our feet up. Even though we didn’t have great weather, we were still able to get outdoors and explore the local area. Bilpin is such a great place to visit and a perfect getaway from Sydney.
Spending a lot more time indoors over the past few months, it felt so great to get outside and explore finally. Even walking around the property first thing in the morning, we were greeted with some beautiful morning fog and were lucky to spend some time getting to know the lovely horses on the nearby property.
For something a little more adventurous, we jumped in the car to drive to Walls Lookout. A short 1-hour return hike once we arrived, it was easily one of the most underrated lookouts in the Blue Mountains area. Not ever seeing or hearing about this lookout before, it offered breathtaking views across the valley.
We made use of the fireplace, which kept the place cosy and warm all weekend, as well as the huge bathtub that we used both nights. Having everything we needed, we were able to cook all our meals without having to leave the area, including some local eggs that were provided by the lovely host!
We also recommend some local Apple Pie which we brought to take home with us!...
