Vintage Mountain Living
Adventure in Wentworth Falls, Blue Mountains, NSW, AU
Just a 1.5 hour drive from Sydney lay "Meg", the caravan, that won't only provide a city escape to the Blue Mountains, but transport you in a time capsule to the 1950s.
After arriving in the evening and jumping straight into the warm duvet, we awoke to a crisp and dreamy sunrise. With wood in the firepit provided by our lovely host Selena, it was easy enough in my sleepy haze to light a soul-nourishing, warm fire to cuddle around and wait for the rising sun to light up and reanimate the valley afar. Back inside, the sunlight filtered through the windows to give the interior of Meg a magical glow; highlighting the original 1959 vintage cupboards, seats, and fittings - the perfect backdrop for a steaming cup of coffee and a book to unwind.
Re-energised after breakfast, we ventured out to Minni Haha Falls. Much less touristy than the famous waterfalls in Katoomba with a secluded swimming hole and rock jump at the base of a gorgeous waterfall.
A slow second day had us soaking in the sun on the lounges next to Meg before walking around the surrounding property, Wild Valley Art Park, a self-sufficient art gallery and studio nestled within the valley.
Heading home, we pulled out our mountain bikes for a fire trail that lead to two waterfalls and a lookout to get the blood pumping. We descended down the steps to Terrace Falls, bikes over our shoulders, to be immersed in a lush canyon and a tiered waterfall all to ourselves.
This weekend provided a unique and tranquil way to soak up the nature that the Blue Mountains has to offer.

Things We Did
- Waterfall
- Lookout
- Bike
After researching the plethora of walks and waterfalls in the area, we felt like an easy walk to avoid time in the intermittent rain and where we wouldn't see any tourists. Minni Haha falls was an incredible choice! 10 minutes from Vintage Vues by car and a 20-minute walk through a well-established path, we were greeted by a quiet and idyllic waterfall that we had all to ourselves! The base of the waterfall includes a beautiful swimming hole and a small walk up to a rock jump; something we'll definitely come back for when the weather warms up.
With Vintage Vues located within the Wild Valley Art Park property, we decided to make the most of it and took a walk around the surrounding property. Bumping into Selena and Lumi the pup along we way, we had a little company gazing at all the different artworks and sculptures on the way up to the lookout - which doubles as an amazing sunset yoga spot!
Only 15 minutes on the way back home to Sydney, we geared up our mountain bikes and rode down the fire trail to Terrace Falls. Keep in mind that biking is only allowed on the fire trails here so we carried our bikes down the steps (Also because it'd be one painful way to get down).
Apart from Terrace falls, there's also other waterfalls and lookouts to walk or bike to if you have more time than we did!
