Back To Nature
Adventure in Grose Vale, Blue Mountains, NSW, AU
A tree-lined driveway leads you to a quaint and gorgeous cottage overlooking the paddocks on the most beautiful farm - the sound of nature so potent on arrival. We arrived in the early afternoon and soon settled into the studio-style cottage which was well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing weekend away.
Our afternoon was spent exploring the 30-acre property with our pup. A long walk surrounded by the friendliest sheep, beautiful horses, and so many butterflies dancing around us and we felt miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We spent our evening on the patio, chatting and enjoying a cheese platter with a perfect view of the sunset.
After a restful night of sleep, we awoke to the sunrise streaming through the cottage and the sweet sound of chirping birds. We were keen for a slow morning, complete with tea brewing and a beautiful breakfast platter as supplied by the host. We wandered down to the lake with a picnic blanket and a good book. Not before long, we were splashing around in the kayak for a leisurely little paddle.
As the sun hid behind the clouds, we decided to take a trip out to Hillbilly Cider for lunch (you can’t go wrong with woodfire pizzas!). We headed back to our cozy cottage getaway and lit up the wood burner with a cup of tea in hand and some good conversation. Eager to get back into nature, as the sun went down we took to the outdoor fire and toasted some marshmallows before settling in for the night.
Lizzie’s little cottage felt like our home away from home and the perfect dose of nature. Our visit was so still, peaceful and calming - an ideal escape....

Things We Did
- Food & Drink
- Farm
- Kayak
- Lookout
We spent the afternoon rugged up at Hillbilly's Cider Shed - well known for their tasting paddles and woodfire pizzas. Take our word for it and try the garlic flatbread, you will not be disappointed. The outdoor setting was perfect for us to bring our pup along, and she definitely loved tearing around with all the other dogs....
