Calabash Bay Waterfront Stay

Tucked away at the end of Calabash Bay, we spent three tranquil days slowing down in the luxurious grasp of the lodge and its surrounds. From the moment we stepped foot onto the boat, we felt the stresses of ordinary life fade away.

The lodge is boat-only access and is carefully nestled into the surrounding bushland with stunning views down the Hawkesbury River from all the bedrooms and main kitchen and dining areas. Here, nature is never too far away. Fully equipped with a large kitchen and several entertaining areas, Calabash Bay Lodge feels ready for a lively group, or just as suitable for a couple like us to relax and watch the days roll by.

We spent mornings fishing from the dock and practising yoga from the rooftop wellness studio, watching the eagles soar overhead and neighbours kayak past. Days were filled with bushland adventures or out on the river with the boat left available for guests to discover Indigenous middens and sandstone caves along the shoreline. As afternoons rolled into night, feasts were cooked in the modern kitchen to be enjoyed around the dining table, with a Jacaranda backdrop and panoramic river views.

Even with gloomy weather outside, the cosy lodge interiors and serenity of the waterway made for a perfectly soothing weekend getaway.
