I was born in the Netherlands and moved to New Zealand and Great Barrier Island in 1999 after meeting my partner on the island.
My background lies in hospitality management, and I have worked freelance as an online translator since 2001.
I’m a (step)mum to three sons. In my spare time I love to read and learn, play games, hike, surf and spend time with my family and friends.
When I go on holiday, I like to go on road trips, visit friends and family, and beautiful places. There's plenty of those in New Zealand. I also love visiting my old country and the islands of the Pacific.
I like to treat others the way I would like to be treated and am a firm believer in the Dutch saying: Wie goed doet goed ontmoet ("If you're nice, you will be treated nicely in return"). I enjoy hosting people at the XSPOT and try to make sure that they have a great break, both in our apartment and on Great Barrier Island.
I own Good Heavens Dark Sky Experiences, with my friend Deborah. We provide stargazing experiences to visitors to our beautiful island. So much fun! Ask me about it if you are interested.
