Hi, I'm Elbert

I’m originally from the Netherlands and moved to Australia in 2009 with my wife. We traded a fast-paced professional life for a slower, more intentional lifestyle and now love spending our time close to nature, exploring new places through road trips, camping and travel, and creating thoughtful, character-filled spaces.

I’m especially drawn to natural homes, off-grid living and tiny houses. As a host, I enjoy welcoming guests, sharing local recommendations, and then giving them the space, privacy and quiet to truly unwind. Muckleford Forest Cottage is a place I’m proud to share — simple, peaceful and surrounded by the beauty of this corner of Central Victoria.
