Hi, I’m Elspeth. Originally from Scotland, I’ve made Victoria my home and fallen in love with its wild beauty and the shifting seasons, the rolling hills of South Gippsland, and the long stretches of coastline that always pull me back to the beach.
Banksia Rise Retreat began with a view. I bought the elevated plot of land because of the sweeping outlook across town and the distant hills. Although the slope made the build more challenging at times, it was worth every moment now the long homestead-style design captures those beautiful views, letting the landscape become part of the experience.
Outside of hosting, I like spending time at the local beaches, exploring nearby villages for good food and coffee.
As a host, I love sharing my favourite spots in South Gippsland, from beaches to charming villages with great coffee and local produce. My hope is that your stay feels restorative, slow mornings with sunlight pouring in, peaceful evenings watching the colours fade over the hills, and plenty of space to unwind in nature.
