Ruapehu Crater Lake and Summit Climb

This challenging hike up the highest mountain on the North Island was an absolute highlight of our trip. The route is unmarked and recommended for experienced and well-equipped trampers only, however, guided tours are also available. The views from the summit are absolutely worth the effort.
