Waipoua Forest

Forest in Northland & Bay of Islands
Waipoua Forest is an ancient green world featuring many towering trees and native birds. The forest is home to the famous “Tane Mahuta”, New Zealand’s largest Kauri tree (approximately 2,000 years old) and what a sight it is to see in real life. Drive the highway through to the forest and be greeted by Kauri trees and coloured ferns alongside the road's edge.
