The Black Yurt

The Black Yurt is situated within Oakura on our section. The surf beach, a number of cafes/restaurants, pharmacy and convenience store are within walking distance. Several hiking trails can be found nearby.

Accessible via a private staircase, this yurt offers a comfortable bed, lounge area and kitchenette. The bath and shower are outdoors. A separate small building contains the toilet. Including: heat-pump, gas bbq, windows with fly screen.

This out of the ordinary space is situated on a spacious deck, placed among trees and adjoining a small stream. The yurt feels cozy (approx. 38 sqm) and is a beautiful place to unwind. Additionally to the king size bed, there’s a queen size futon mattress that can be rolled out on the floor to accommodate a maximum of two children. Please request the futon when traveling with children.

The dome can be opened and the windows rolled up for a great indoor/outdoor flow and stargazing at night. It is insulated and has a heat-pump for heating/cooling. The kitchenette offers coffee and tea equipment as well as a toaster and small fridge.

For additional, small cooking needs, a gas barbecue is situated on the deck. The setup is not suitable for bigger food preparation. We encourage our guest to check out the local cafes and restaurants.

A beautiful bath and shower can be enjoyed under the open sky. The toilet house is accessible under a roof and houses a hand basin and toilet.
