Additional Information

Relax and take in the golden escarpment and valley views from the outdoor sofa under the covered patio. Cook up a sumptuous meal on the Ziegler & Brown BBQ or in the fully-equipped spacious kitchen.

Move on to the super-comfy sofas by the open log fireplace (winter) and still enjoy the views. After dark, grab the marshmallows and try the outdoor fire pit and stargaze with almost no artificial light.

Retire to your bedroom, with its private ensuite, for a country-silent sleep. In the morning, grab a coffee, lie in bed with a book and take in the views of the escarpment and wildlife from the full-length window.

During the day, enjoy any number of walks or runs around the 146-acre property and keep your eye out for a range of wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, foxes, echidnas, deer, goats and loads of birds.

For the fit, walk down the trail through the forest to the creek to explore over a kilometre of creek frontage and enjoy the Olympic-size natural swimming hole in the creek. There is also a glow worm sanctuary on the property but currently no access due to landslip.

Other key things to note
Jingella is a totally off-grid rural property - it is not an urban hotel. This means that guests should not expect to be able to run the aircon for long periods - it is there to help provide temporary relief from extreme cold or hot conditions. It also means that guests will have a chance to experience luxury in an environmentally sustainable environment - we call it EcoLuxe.

Being a rural property there are dams and a creek and the typical risks associated with such a property. Children should be supervised at all times and adults should exercise due caution.

You should also understand that on such a property one of the key attractions - the wildlife and natural setting - may also inconvenience you from time to time and result in risks that you accept by booking with us.
Any activity on the property is at the Guest's own risk and the Host is not liable for any injury or accident that may arise.

Because of the heavy rain and impact on roads we have not been able to complete landscaping, driveways and mowing of the walking trails (which are slippery when wet) and the property.

Strictly no:
- guests not included on the booking
- parties
- loud noise(especially at night)
- smoking in villas
- pets
- off-road driving

We may need to cancel your booking, without liability, if you don't comply with these key rules and also as a result of events beyond our control such as road closures, flooding, bush fires etc. We cannot guarantee that what we say we offer at Jingella will always be available and work well but, if you let us know, we will try to resolve it as soon as we can.

My husband and I stayed for a mid week break and had such a relaxing time. Kaya was well appointed and comfortable, and has such a spectacular view. We loved spotting all the wombats and wallabies and listening to the morning bird song. Peter was a responsive and communicative host. Thanks!

What a beautiful place!! The home was well equipped with all you could need. The view is stunning, we loved being visited by the local Roos in the mornings as well. The walk to the river/pool is steep... but well worth it.
Also, a beautiful flat home which was great for a family with extra-mobility needs.

A Walk And A Kayak

There were other activities to do on the property itself, including taking a beautiful slow stroll down to the river for a kayak, we only had a short time to check this out due to the heavy rain the night before and the morning of, but it was tranquil and peaceful and I could see myself spending the whole afternoon down there!

Wild Swimming And Kayak

Jingella Estate has its own Olympic pool size creek swimming hole with kayaks. Even when the water is too cold or after heavy rains, it is fun to explore the creek frontage.

Star Gazing By The Outdoor Firepit

Outside your villa, with almost no artificial light, the stars are so vivid on a clear night that you can almost touch them!

Outdoor Equipment Provided

Enjoy the outdoors with the following equipment included in your stay.

Kayaks and tractor tyre tubes down by the creek can be used at your own risk

A Stroll To Twin Falls

We ventured out to Fitzroy Falls for a day hike. It was a short 20 mins drive up the mountain but you could clearly tell the air was much cooler and dewy. We did a short hike to the Twin Falls, and when we got there, we were greeted with a combination of a sunshower to our left, a broody and dark thunderstorm to our right and a rainbow right before our eyes. Truly it was sensory overload and I've never experienced anything like it in my life. Truly exhilarating.

Swim In Kangaroo River

To top off a day of exploring, we came across Kangaroo River what else do you do other than jump in. Word of warning, it's not warm (check facial expressions and speed of exit), but when you have an indoor fireplace waiting for you back at The Barn Cottage, why not?

Scenic Drive

We decided to take a short drive through the valley stopping in at various beautiful farmlands. We stopped at one that was a particularly special treat as it was home to one of my favourite cows, the Scottish Highlander bull. These were stunning to see up close.

Ride Around The Valley

Go as far as you want, because you will never get sick of the views. We rode for about 20 kilometres through some pristine farmland and lush forest areas.

There is so much to see and do in this gorgeous little town. Grab a beer at The Friendly Inn, walk down to the historic Hampden Bridge and soak in the sounds of cars driving over the bridge.

We cruised along to Kangaroo Valley town where you'll find your classic Aussie country pub and cafés, but the antiques seem to be the local specialty here. You could spend hours checking out the most weirdly fascinating collections they have.
